I bought 2018 w222 facelift today, car was on service, no errors on diagnostic tools, however In ambi-light I can only select colors 1-9, when I select 10,11 or 12 it returns me to 9.
Is this software bug, broken led maybe, or something else?

why 2018 w222 has only 12 colors, I had 64 on 2018 CLS C257

In the US all refresh W222s have the 64 color ambient lighting.

mine is EU, cannot believe it that they have only 12, why they distinguish that based on market

Its an option and it just depends on what options are standard in any particular market. There are for instance no SWB S Classes in the US, the Burmester is our base sound system, etc etc

Because your car was coded, it sounds like they unlocked "Additional colors" and the car isn't set up to actually use those colors. I had "additional seat massage settings" unlocked and they require seat massage units In the seat base which my car doesn't have, so they don't work right.

You are right, checked today, ex-owner coded the car to enable AMG boot logo which also unlocked more colors in Ambient Light now, which I dont have physically in LED.

In general is this coding something I should be concerned with, can it afffect diagnostic or something else significantly, not sure should i return it to factory?
