Buying this and need all advises I can get ...
Hi All
a newbie here ... so after all , finally I decided to go ahead and commit to buy this 2016 S500 ( here in Sydney) 38KM (62K km) ... I think is equivalent S550 in US ?
There is not very clarity which options this one has... it has the message seat...has the MBC...seems has AMG wheels ... so how/ where can I find out which packages it has exactly ? also it seems the tires are run flat 20" ... can you please confirm from pictures?
also It should be pre facelift as its 2016 models ( built June 2016) ) , but the dealer said it has facelift , can you please confirm?
I am very exited as I loved S classes since I remember and now I ( almost) have one ...I need all advised I can get how to look after it and if I need to do anything ?
I have attached the 2 picture I have also the ad.pdf
Thanks in advance

2016 is pre facelift. Also the facelift cars have 9 speed transmissions.
Probably are run flats, look at the name of the Pirelli and look up the tire on sites like tirerack. Will tell you if it is runflat.
In the US you can pull the original window sticker and see the packages. Not sure where you are.

Ask the dealer/seller for the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and use this site: https://mb.vin/

now I am confused ... as this model built is June 2016 it should have 7 speed transmission but in few database searched with Vin and its actually 9 speed ... as in the pdf it says 421 9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
finding something even stranger ... 807 CHANGE OF MODEL YEAR, THE LAST FIGURE SHOWING THE NEW MODEL YEAR ... i did some research and it seems it confirms this is mode 2017 ( because of code 807) ? what does that mean if it is 2017 models then it has 9 speed and face lift ? but I saw the tag on car says built June 2016 ???

Think it through.
Right now in September of 2023, you can purchase a new 2024 Mercedes (that was built this year).
Your prospective 2017 was built in June 2016. My 2015 S550 was built in November of 2014. Make sense?

Interesting that option No. 487 shows as Active Body Control, while in the USA, 487 is Magic Body Control. I wonder if is indeed ABC or MBC? Either way, both are fabulous suspension options. Looks to be a great car!

Now about a photo of the front of the car? We can tell you in a minute if it is a face lift model or not.

This isn't rocket science. No fault of yours, however. Your dealer is simply an idiot.
The car you are looking to buy is a 2017 S500 that was built in June of 2016 as I tried to explain above.
It is not a facelift vehicle as you can see in the photos. Compare these pictures with pictures of the 2018 S-Class. https://www.motor1.com/news/142855/2...-spot-changes/
It has a 9G-Tronic transmission. 2017 was the first year these transmissions were available in the S-Class.
From the ad you posted:
Not a 2016 S500. Doesn't have a 7G-Tronic transmission. Again, your dealer is an idiot. Mum's the word. He deserves to sell it to you thinking it's a 2016.
