2 Messages After Fixing Rear Bumper

Hola Team 222, hope everyone enjoyed summer. Now back to work.
I recently had some work done on my s560 after someone gave it a tap and ruined the headlight while my son and I were at the beach many many miles away from NJ. The gent was nice enough to leave a note and accepted full responsibility, so we were all good.
Got home, dropped off at body shop. Top rated one.
While the body shop was looking around they saw the rear body panel was dented and repaired at some point.
So they redid the rear bumper for me.
All was fine until I got the blind spot and active brake assist messages.
I scanned it and found some codes.
Benz Ninja cleared them up. And they stayed off for about 17 miles.
Then they came back, so I went and cleared them up.
And again, the messages were clear for about 17 miles, then they came back.
I guess I have to take the bumper off and see whats up.
Xentry is telling me that sensor 1 and 5 are messed up.
Codes C110178, for sensor 1, and code C110500 for sensor 5.
See also the photos of the repair that was done on the car before the shop fixed it.
Thinking of just replacing them.
See attached photo from xentry, sorry for the sun glare.

I had similar error with a sensor in the rear bumper. Dealer put in new sensor to no avail. They looked again and secured the sensor better by using duct tape. It’s been a year with this fix and seems to be the fix

Had same issue. No noticeable damage. Dealer had my car for almost 4 months trying to figure it out just to tell me CPO won't cover it and I need a new rear bumber. I wonder if I can duct tape it myself?

The shop foreman told me that the cradle the sensor sits in was causing the sensor to vibrate because it was loose

I got issues with 2 things here.
N62/4 control box in the trunk, left side.
and B92/7 which appears to be the sensor on the right rear.
I would take it back to the shop but I’m not doing that again….

Let me know what you find. Mine is the same sensor rear passenger side. I don't see anything loose but can't really get under there without taking the bumper off smh

I took the bumper guards off and on the right side, module 92/7 (the sensor module, not the actual sensor) was not seated properly.
im all set now.
if you guys have this issue use some epoxy to keep the box in place behind the bumper in its bracket.

I have a similar issue - its been going on Since July 2023.. I did the 2018+ S63 conversion and when I got the car back the driver side blind spot monitoring has never worked and then the passenger side would act up very often where it would show the red triangle in the side view mirror telling me someone was next to me when no one was multiple times.

I have since bought (2) modules for the driver side one which was brand new the other was used both nothing then I have tried working with my existing module and still nothing.
all (3) modules I have worked decently advanced diagnostics with BenzNinja since July and still nothing.

I always put duct tape in the area to lock it into place ( i deleted the mufflers so I have very easy access to the radar modules) and still nothing.

[mayor, if you paint the bumpers you may have to get a new bumper.
You cant really repaint these.
if benzninja walked through your issues then your issue is a hardware issue.
i basically reinserted mine and then some epoxy to keep ithe module box in place.
if its off a millimeter it will not work

My bumpers are brand new they came primed and i had them painted when I did the conversion - my module is very secure too but were going to look and see if the software version changes with the facelift.

Once you touch the S class body you get drama as Peter sais.

I'm close to just giving up with the blind spot monitoring though

Hes right, shes very sensitive, once you touch her body, she makes problems…..if bumpers are painted it may be an issue.
do you have xentry?
you are in NJ right?

I've done such advanced diagnostics with BenzNinja that we think the body shop did something .. I don't personally believe that I know the shop for 15+ years there's as OCD as I am but I also wonder if the module holders built onto the bumper themself are exact spots I don't know but it is the ONLY thing that doesn't work are the blind spot monitor system so I guess it could be worse lol.

We've just updated the software top to bottom.

Im over it lol

Its either the modules in the bumper or the module in the left side of the trunk. Domt know what codes your getting.

its a hardware issue.

2020 E-450
I’m replying here because this thread put me on the path of solving this for my E-450. My right rear radar sensor had been popped off due to a rear bumper hit. An initial hot glue job had not worked, but that was because the sensor was off by like 3mm.

The solution involved using pushing hat pin type needles through the holes to align the sensor holder. My wife held the pins in alignment while I lifted up the bracket, hosed it down with hot glue then proceeded to burn the heck out of my finger tips when I mashed it back down and the glue squirted out through all the mounting holes.

The sensor required about an hour of driving in 2-3 lanes of traffic before it came back to life.

For those struggling after "conversion" did you get aftermarket bumpers?

s560 2018 replaced front and rear bumpers and getting these errors, xentry located B92/10 which is on the left rear bumper to be adjustment miss alignment issue, how can it be fixed? I can see it but very difficult to reach.
