Do i need to change transmission oil or not?

Some are to go with it, some are against it, i checked car manual and there is nothing about it.

What is general Mercedes reccomendatio, do i need to change transmission oil, and if yes when is the appropriate time to do it?

My W222 is 2018 with 30k miles on it, so far not changed oil in transmission.

Change it. MB says to do it. Maintenance booklet in my signature link or search this site.

Change it, and open the torque converter, there is about 4 liters in there as well

do it every 30-40k

the later you wait the sooner the next interval will have to be due to trapped old oil contaminating the new supply. the old stuff cooks off, becomes thicker viscosity, and is more or less useless so if it mixes its essentially diluting the hydraulic and lubricative properties it should have

mercedes did not factor for this, so their intervals are often 60k and the cars aren't running as well as they could all the time

Would change at 60k. That’s what I’m doing. Would do sooner if car has been driven thru deep water.

Here is the recommended interval, per the MY2017 Maintenance Booklet. Your 2018 has the same 9-Speed Transmission as the 2017, so it's reasonably safe to conclude that a 60k-interval would be applicable to yours, too. (Change the transfer case oil as well, if yours is 4-MATIC)

If someone has a MY2018 Maintenance Booklet and can weigh in here, go for it, but I think you're safe with a 60k interval.

Good luck!

There is no such thing as "LIFTIME" Transmission fluid, that said just order the whole kit from FCP Euro for your car and watch a couple YouTube vids on changining the fluid on a 722.x trans or W222 chassis Benz, it's pretty straightforward, I change mine every 30kmi. Goodluck!
