Spending the summer in Europe, a little concerned about the battery

I'm doing a 14 week trek throughout Europe this summer, I'm a little concerned about the battery dying over that time frame. Any tips or charger devices you'd recommend? I don't trust anybody to drive my car while I'm gone (16 S550) so I won't consider that. If I do need to buy another battery when I get back, will it need to be programmed like on the 7 Series?

Get yourself a battery tender.

And set it on 'maintain' not 'charge'--ask me how I know.

As suggested above, just hook it up to a tender. CTEK tenders are often recommended by people and it's what the MB OEM tenders are. The one thing to watch out for is I believe the W222 uses a lithium battery, so you need a tender that supports lithium batteries, because they have a very different charging profile and are most happy if kept at a partial charge.

I did a similar trip back in 2019. Spent about 10 weeks in Europe. I put a fuel stabilizer in the tank for extra piece of mind. Inflated the tires to the max load pressure to help avoid flat spots and hooked the AGM battery up to a tender for the entire time. I also changed the oil just before I left. It's something that's often recommended if the car is left for an extended time, but mine happened to be due for regular maintenance anyway.

My 2015 model S500 has an AGM battery, I think the Lithium batteries were used in the newer models on the W222, my ctek MXS 5.0 has a button to select AGM when used.
I also recommend putting the tyres up to maybe 50psi to save flat spotting the tyres.

I've had two W222s.... and same as every year, we also go to Europe and spend about 6-7 weeks in a row, overseas every-year. Never had issues with either of my W222s. They've started immediately like normal, and both were running the factory warranty and were a few years old.

I’ve used Deltran Battery Tenders for 20 years or more. I have one hooked up to my 2020 W222 now and two others connected to my other cars - one very nice car and a daily driver. They work.

They were available at Costco but they all show out of stock. Also available at Lowe’s, Amazon, etc.

Edit: As mentioned ^ bump up the tire pressures.

CTEK or any battery tender should do the work but I have not come across issues when the car has not been driven 4 weeks .Mercedes-Benz is not a battery killer to me unlike other brands
