16 S550 slow coolant leak, a little coolant in the valley

My 2016 Mercedes S550 has a slow coolant leak, I have to add maybe a little every 200 miles. I've looked all over for any signs of coolant residue, but the only place I'm seeing is a little in the valley of the intake manifold (maybe a teaspoon worth of coolant, still liquid). Searching around, it looks like the heater valve by the heater core hose can spew but that was on a 2013 model that I saw that video on Youtube. Has that issue happened on the W222 as well?

The coolant reservoir to the side is the one that loses coolant, the one in the middle of the engine stays the same.

Check the plastic turbo cooling lines. They are known to leak. They are on the font of the engine coming out of the water pump, 2 black plastic lines leading the the drives side turbo.

If you have liquid coolant in the engine that is an active leak that should be easy to diagnose as coolant will quickly evaporate at operating temperature.

Here is what I know, there must be a COOLANT Hose going to the fire wall (second wall) behind that you will find a hoses u need to know which one is leaking.
ANS: its the main one that comes from the the engine. So just check if you need the back or the front

MB ONLINE diagram 340 or 320 not sure if i can link i will

Something like this:

its 1.5 hrs job need skinny hands

and re pressurize the coolant so better have some spare coolant G40

you should be good

COST. $200 estm

parts can cost you 60+ just worry about installing

the wiper blades dont come out. The bypass shield is there 2 bolts and it will pop out

Yes, it did. It was EVERYWHERE. But, on the very hot items things got coated in green. When I was finally able to watch in real time (via borescope)...at about 3000rpm it was like a squirt gun out of the sensor and ricochet back into the valley - ABOVE the location of the leak. There is a freeze plug that I was thinking for a bit was my issue as it was soaked and looks corroded (from the film of coolant). And, yes, in the engine valley at the rear of the engine...

Bad photo (of the screen)...but, this is the heat plug with solidified drips of coolant. This got there "on the splash" from the leak. As you can see from my thread - took days to find it - it was only found 100% certain with the engine warm and at + 3000 rpm.

Had the same problem. Dealer just did it for $500. Indy wanted pretty much the same which was very rare and I got a loaner to drive

Many thanks. You go to extra ordinary lengths to diagnose problems, no matter the degree of difficulty. Thanks for a very illuminating post.
