Time For New Brakes

Time to get new brakes, front brakes specifically. Any preferences out there? I put in Redstuff brakes (front and back same time) two years ago and was told the fronts are at 3, the rears still at 6 or 7 I believe. Gotta look at the paperwork again, I could be wrong. I know I was told the fronts have little left and the rears are fine.

They were fine but seeing what better is out there. They were supposed to have less dust but idk if I saw much difference in the front.

I understand you're looking for an aftermarket solution, but if you want to entertain the idea of OE replacements, we have a great deal on them!

I changed to ceramic pads from powerstop, Z26 up font and Z23 in the rear. For the first time since I got a W222 2 years ago, I can drive for a month without the need to wash the wheels. The brake dust has decreased by 90% for me. I think I made the change on the rear in May, and the fronts in June, the difference inphenonomal, with zero change in braking behavior.

Go with any options on FCP Euro, second set would be free* (minus returning shipping).

Almost anything is better than the OEM ... whatever materials they used, the priority was clearly not excessive brake dusting! I have about 5k miles on EBC Redstuff pads and very pleased with the pedal feel, performance and cleanliness

OEM pad performance is superb, but the trade off is dust.

After many years using Akebono pads I too have switched to PowerStop Z23 pads. They are stupidly cheap, very low dust, and do not seem to fade after repeated stops here in the desert. Really very happy with them.

Same here just did all four corners with Power Stop rotors and pads they are equally as good as stock or better and almost zero dust.

picked up my new to me 2020 s560 on June 1, 2024, with 23,853 miles on it, the first thing I did was order a set of Akebono ceramic brake pads for the front and rear, the rotors are good, I have been ridding Akebono brake pads for years, started on my 2011 s550 4matic in 2013, never had a problem stopping my car or brake fading, but then I don't drive my cars on the race track, I give Akebono a four star rating, but to me nothing is perfect

Just curious, because I do like Akebono and they are on my other Benzos, where did you find Akebono pads for the W222?

Looking at the Akebono parts catalog they do not show a listing for them.

I too have used Akebono pads for years and love them. I called them directly and was told they don’t make pads for my car (2017 A217 Cabrio) if they don’t make enough of the cars they will not produce pads. I’m not sure if there is a difference in the sedan v coupe’s.

Where did you find Akebono for these? Its almost time for new pads and I currently run Porterfields. They have been good but squeal started well before pads needed to be replaced
