I came a cross an old video from 1992 about the all new 5th generation S-Class. I'm amazed at how much a new S-Class cost way back then!

Oh yeah! I think my '88 560 SEC, '01 E55 AMG, and '08 S550 were all window sticker $90K! Love these Motorweek Videos, they do such a good job, straight facts, minimum personality.

My dad bought his first MB a 78' 450 SEL that he got a great deal on for $28,000 which he thougth was a fortune. He traded that in for a 85' 500 SEL that he bought with 10k on it, original window on it was $65k big increase! He also had a 78' 450SL that was 27k sticker fun car in candy apple red, had to sell when he was going broke in mid-90s...

Nope, never watched MotorWeek, but ...
I bought a 1971 300SEL for delivery in Vienna in June - two-tone, black over ivory - air suspension.
Price was just shy of $10,000. Drove it 5,000 miles in Europe down to Athens and back up to Stuttgart, and then put another 100,000 miles on it until the air suspension wore out.
Prices went up so much, I didn't buy another one until I bought my 2012 S class off the show room floor.

Amazed that John Davidson is still around doing these shows. Wonder what happened to Pat the mechanic guy?

I’ve watched them forever also. John Davis and the Motorweek crew have come to the local car gathering a few times, it’s gotten crazy busy with a huge variety of cars. Hunt Valley Horsepower. The roads nearby in MD are fantastic for drives and up into PA. Roads in SD are fantastic also.
Scroll down for Motorweek videos.

Edit… Fixed John’s name.

Motorweek Lifer
Goss's Garage segment was Great. Been watching Motorweek since transferred to NM in the 1980s from Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo, CA. Back in those days local cable company had a 13-channel Basic Cable $9 package that included PBS. Roommate and I tried to finish washing our cars Saturday Mornings before Motorweek came on PBS in the Spring, Summer, and Fall to beat the NM heat and sun to eliminate water spots. I think Motorweek introduced us to Zymol products. Later had a Crush on hottie Anquionette Crosby...lol
Last weekend enjoyed watching the Rolls Royce Spectre EV review with its huge assisted coach suicide doors and standard umbrella. Bought a Powerball ticket last Saturday after watching that segment!

Besides Goss two other personalities passed away: On the High Road's Craig Singhaus, and FYI's Lisa Barrow. I looked around online and I can't find anything about Craig Singhaus or Lisa Barrow having died...

I pretty much watched or taped every Episode of Motorweek after1985. I can't remember my Thermodynamics but remember odd facts that might make me a one-time contestant on Jeopardy!

My bad
I'm mistaken. I see pictures of Lisa in 2023 online and Craig is on Facebook. They were my favorite Motorweek Personalities!
Now that Maxton Kit car will never die and was brought back to Life by John Davis...hopefully that decision was OK with Pat Goss before his passing.

They weren't as famous as Pat Goss who also owned a business...Probably Lawyer types could do a deeper dive into the County Hall of Public/Vital Records.

I still watch Motorweek on PBS, on my DVR all the time. John is pretty much the only original member left, love their reviews. 1992 prices were pretty insane the base on my 550e was 95, 650 so in reality they have not gone up that much, a 100k car in 1992 is like $225k today!
