The weirdest thing I seen in my life!!!!!

Hey I was driving my w222 on a nice rainy day and on my way back home I heard a suspicious noise. It sounded like scraping as I drive coming from the front passenger side. I drove to a gas station so I can inspect the suspension on the front passenger tire. The suspension and everything was fine. I expected something to be caught up in there somewhere but I seen nothing. I look under the car behind the passenger wheel and I saw a long black tube sticking out of the covering. I pulled it out and read the part number a2228321690. I looked it up and it says it’s a drain pipe located in the wheel arch. I have no idea how it came out.

Has anyone had this experience? Should I attempt to put it back on or it’s not that important.

Seems to be a common issue...a few threads here about it. They found mine rattling around inside the inner fender well last year. Must not be attached very securely from the factory.

It’s rather common - seems to occur when driving through a deeper puddle.

I replaced mine twice, then complained to the dealer when in for a regular service, and asked them to fix it so it doesn’t happen again.

They did reinstall it, but to be honest, I haven’t driven through a deep puddle since.

To replace, remove right front tire, pull back the rear liner and you will see where it goes. I did drive around for about 3 months with the pipe in the trunk before visiting the dealer.

They replaced mine and put a few dabs of silicone caulk in there to keep it in place (but still allow for removal if needed).

Not caulk, use an automotive adhesive.

What that got to do with anything you don’t know me. I don’t need an ******* to tell me anything. Keep the bs commentary to yourself. What is wrong with people on here? It makes you feel good to make smart *** comments? The reason I title stuff a certain way is for attention to get a faster response.

Deep breaths child. No need to get your panties in a twist.

Sooo quick to find offense.

I’ll be sure to let you twist in the wind should you ask for real help.

You never answered a question for me anyway. I’m not losing anything with your pointless responses. Grow the **** up stop playing with people you don’t know it’s disrespectful. You don’t know that smart ***.
