So i bought new original 20" wheels the other day. They were listed as being from or for a W223. I put them under my W222 (2017) and it somehow doesn't recognize the wheel sensors.
Do they operate on a different frequency or is there something I should do to get them being recognized? It now just says 'no wheel sensors' in yellow in my display where as I am sure there are (at least that's how MB sold them).
I am waiting for my laptop, HD and other toys to get my BenzNinja gear up and running. :-)

They are brand New w223 wheels. Bought them with 150km's on them (about 90 miles). the previous owner wanted for 22". The batteries therfor should work.

This must have changed ... when I got my new wheels in 2021 all I had to do was get the correct-rated (390 Mhz, IIRC) Mercedes sensors and pop them in. The car recognized them immediately.

Like you I've never heard of TPMS that require coding. The normal proceudre is to simply bind them to each other, sometimes it can be a lengthy process, but no special tools required.
If the W223 TPMS are different, then a set of W222 TPMS mounted will take care of the issue, any Mercedes parts dept will be able to confirm if W223 and W222 are different part numbers.

Just deflate the tire one by one and then, what is next to be done? ride for a couple of minutes or something else?

A while back, before I had xentry, a shop had to do the “teach in” on a set of 19”s in the gl. Basically register them in your module so it recognizes them. Also, discount tire does that as well but they might have to get the sensors out to see the serial numbers.
So hurry up and get the BenzNinja service asap because youre going to need it a lot 😂
