Hello everyone, I was filling up winter wiper fluid just now when I noticed oil on the heat protection plate. It seems to be coming from those oil lines on the engine bay. Has anybody experienced this? Probably not covered under warranty but could it be part of a recall or something? I was going 150mph yesterday, maybe something happened there? There's an original new replacement part on Ebay right now that only costs 75 Euro. Should I just get it and find someone to install it?

No technical feedback on this? Keep in mind, it seems this is not generally leaking. It seems like it only did this under specific circumstances. A befriended mechanic said he's seen this before and usually they can't even find a leak when they examine the part. I could just replace it and I will but just makes me wonder what is happening there.
@tx170754 haha, well aware, did you look at the pictures? There is a picture of the line with the leak. @VII My engine cover is missing in the picture cause I took it off to see where the oil came from. There are little openings in the engine cover on the M176. That is where the oil has squirted through. Only way this could've happened.

I noticed the exact same thing on my car, same engine. The dealer can’t find anything. They tell me the prior owner probably drove with the fill cap off. Looking in the mirror this morning, I may look older but dumber?
I told him the fill cap is on the other side so that isn’t possible. How can motor oil spit up without any reason or defect? I wonder what these service people think of their customers? They must tell their wives about the idiot that was at the shop today.

After consulting my trusted mechanics I decided to leave it and just check whether it happens again. They said they have seen stuff like this but often times couldn't make out how it happened.
Hello Nico, is there any connect between you taking car to 150mph and the thrown oil under your hood ? Maybe back pressure ? I don’t know and I am just curious.
When you drive that fast, you are forcing a whole lot of air into the front scoops and radiator grill. There is more than enough turbulence and upflow from that swirling air to lift any oil dripping anywhere in the engine bay, up into the underside of the hood and the heat protection shield.
Look for a leak. If there is a place you regularly park it, check for oil spots. That should help you to start looking in that general area.
A great majority of the time oil leaks will originate in 2-3 areas. Oil plug, oil filter, oil filler.
