Time to check suspension components for worn out parts.

With an assumption they checked suspension before replacing any parts for the brakes, were the calipers checked to see that the pistons were not seized or rusty?

Vibration through steering wheel or body?
Likely bent wheel or dirty/damaged mounting surface.

Mileage on car?
Vibration occurs at what speed, gear and rpm?

My W222 has a pretty significant vibration around 65 mph. The wheels/tires are all very well balanced, but one of the front Cosmo Mucho Macho tires that the dealer mounted seems to have a flat spot in the belting. Don't just check the balance of the tires, but also check the wheels for straightness and tires for defects. I'll respond back if tires were my problem (it could be just one of many issues?).

I had a lot of vibration in my steering wheel around 50. Got new tires, balanced three or four times.
Everything was checked. The control arms looked fine, no movement in the rubber. Previous owner had the car at the dealer for this very reason.
Took me months. Tires balanced, alignment done. Suspension checked.

In the end I replaced the front torque control arms myself and the vibration went away. These cars are very hard on front end suspension components.

Thanks for the suggestion. When you replaced the arms, could you tell the joints were loose on the knuckle end? I can certainly see why it would be difficult to troubleshoot just shaking the wheel or pushing up on the wheel to check the ball joints.

No, everything seemed tight.
Looking at the carfax the previous owner was also chasing this issue down.
It literally took me months.
I replaced the tie rods as I though those might be worn. Took car in for alignment and the tech said to look at the torq arms in front. One was out of spec, but other than that there was no indication.

Replaced them and voila. Smooth as glass.

How many miles on your car - emerging vibration here similar to yours.

Thanks.

Around 50k miles. Not that much, but the previous owner hit cubs a lot, can see that in the wheels.
Maybe that messed things up?
Then again the car is 10 years old, its sits on the rubber bushings 24/7

If its steering wheel vibration, could be wheels, could be tie rods, could be bearings, could be control arms, could be shocks. Its so difficult to diagnose because often the vibration comes and goes.
When I buy older cars I often replace the brakes, rotors and stuff, and the suspension as far as I can. New tires, brakes and suspension makes a big difference.
Brakes and suspension is something a home diy can do. Still have to do few things on this car

Hi- I'm looking to replace the front torque arms in my '15 S550 - these are the most front mounted arms, not the lower control arms. Is this what you replaced as well? I had the lower ones previously replaced under a warranty.

Did you have to remove the lower control arm and/or the CV axle (assuming 4-matic) to get the torque arm out of the spindle? Having a hard time finding videos on the torque arms, whereas there's alot out there on the lower control arms. I'm hoping it's a remove/replace: remove the chassis bolt, remove the ball joint nut on spindle, replace, load suspension and tighten?

Thanks!

This is the arm I'm looking to replace:

Hi there. Just saw the posting. That was not the arm I replaced for my vibration.
It was this one.

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...arm-2213500206

Not this specific one, this one is only up to 2012, but looked the same. Hole bushing on each side.

This one was not too difficult, and in the end it worked. Even thoug the rubber looked fine. I don't understand it, but it worked.
However, if yours has any miles on it, I would probably replace both. These cars are just hard on front end suspension components

I'm looking to do the same but the part you shared is for the rear. Checked FCP and all parts have a bushing on one end and a ball joint on the other:

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...kit-2223305801

That kit has all the lower control arms.

In any case, I'm @120k miles so going to do all mine and hopefully that takes care of it.

Appreciate the response. That's interesting- I'm not sure which control arm in the front has hole bushings on both sides. That's a link to a rear arm which definitely has bushings on both.

You might be right. I sold the car so I cannot look anymore. But it was a long one, right at the bottom in front.
