Highest mileage Pre 2016 W222

What is the highest mileage you have been gotten on your pre 2016 W222? Just wondering how many pre 2016 W222's have been able to achieve high miles without encountering major engine issues specifically including bore scoring.

I saw someone with a 2015 M278 S550 with over 330,000 miles in the W222 Owners Club Facebook Group

I am almost positive that it is. He has documented it very well and has no plans of stopping. He said he does most services by himself and claims it has been the most cost-effective car he has ever owned. Any M278 built after March 2015 has the updated cylinder walls.

S550 V8, CL600 V12, SLK32 AMG
Week ago at a gas station I was filling up my W222. Other guy there had a W220. Not perfect condition, but fine. Asked him how many miles on his and he said around 240k.
I think the W222 is a better and more reliable car than the W220, so over 200k is likely doable.

W222 in general is a reliable vehicle, for those in a market, get a PPI for sure.

Cylinder scoring was resolved by using different liners for the walls. Carry over was done after 3/15.

My 4/15 build W222 has the new liners which was a relief.

But like I said plenty of W221 M278 and 14 W222 with higjer
mileages.

Well I asked because of the gorgeous 2015 with MBC that was auctioned but it was a pre 2015 build so I didn't consider it.

I wonder how much of bore scoring is materials used VS how the engine has been cared for.....

Through the decades I have been at the auto game I’ve heard of many many engines, described as ‘having issues’ to ‘junk’ where virtually all of them that get the right engine oil, changed at reasonable intervals live to a ripe old age.... engines that are not cared for fail. I owned a 2014 S-550 with that bent eight. No oil consumption. Just a really nice runner.

How many miles were on it when you got rid of it?
