Same here. My 2022 is sitting in Baltimore until 2021's are sold out.

My theory as well. At least makes it easier for people to spot in the future when they're buying used.

Does it have the Active LEDs too? I thought they removed them from 2022s until further notice.

I am not sure about the the active ambient lighting. I was told all the standard features were on the car, but I didn't specifically ask about that feature. The only additional electronic option I added was the 3D Technology Package and I was told that was on the car.

Active Ambient Lighting is not a standard feature.
It has option code 878.
(Not to be confused with standard ambient lighting which includes the logo projection on ground, code 587)

Interesting. So pretty much no 878 for 2022s. What if you got executive line? Seems like it might have it then no?

Sorry, I wish I had an answer but I’m only a customer/owner.

Saw this beauty on the showroom floor at MB Palm Beach a couple of days ago. S 580 with AMG Line. I’m going back tomorrow, we’ll see if it’s still there or if someone has snatched it up.

Now that is sexy! This is how to take a good picture of the cars. Too many people here post close up and weird angle pictures of their S classes.

I never made it into the showroom today, my car (GLS 580) was ready and waiting for me outside of Service. I love love love the new S although I haven’t ridden in it yet but on looks alone I was fairly drooling over it. My boyfriend ordered an S580 back in November and it’s supposed to be delivered within the next week or so. He’s waiting patiently…..

Not Disclosed - Missing massage seats

Dealership never disclosed that my S580 did not have massage seats. Looking back on the paper work and the window sticker massage seats are never mentioned to be missing.

I have talked to both dealer management and MBUSA “supervisor” and they both all of a sudden become illiterate when I ask them to confirm what each line reads on window sticker. They refuse to acknowledge “massage” is missing on the credit code.

The question I asked and c outdent be answered was will these options be able to sort of be activated when the chips become avail or will they always be off. Cant see buying a $140k car and missing options as the credit at that price point is ridiculous. I am waiting. The cars are nice though.

What about the missing Active Ambient Lighting? Did they also not acknowledge?

The multicontour seats are part and parcel with the massaging seats.

The active ambient lighting is specifically outlined on the credit they apply back toward the price. However the stealership charged me anyway and owe me a refund. That’s an entire other issue I had.

that may be so however each are independent features. If it’s added “with massage” on one side then it should be subtracted exactly the same.

One shouldn’t have to do research to figure that out plus this car will dramatically depreciate a lot more than $1700 due to this feature missing as opposed to the newer models once they add the feature.

interesting! Wonder if anybody would like to tear open their seats to see if the hardware is there lol. I imagine it be a simple software update with the chip if the hardware was already in place.

Its a verbiage thing, I agree it should be more clear but any research will show you that the two features are one in the same. If they were separate features they would be on separate lines on the sticker.

You're likely correct, and the simple solution is to not buy this car and wait until such time as the chip shortage is sorted and they don't have to delete these features. Thats what I would do, I wouldn't buy the car without those features.

You're not going to get anywhere with MBUSA on this.

I considered returning the car as I believe it is still an option however what else is there to get?

The only other car I would consider is the 7 series. I had a LS500 but the tech was way behind. The A8 is nice but I don't like the infotainment system

The S-Class is the best car of it's competitors with or w/o the massage IMO.

You seemed so enthusiastic on this thread, and then no post for several days after you received your car. Sorry about the brakes, I hope that's not stopping you (get it?) from enjoying the rest of your new car. Anything else better or worst then expected?
