Dealerships at MSRP vs. Shameful Upchargers
Let's get a list of dealerships that are at MSRP (and may very well likely give you off MSRP) vs. Dealerships who insist on going forward with this ridiculous upcharging trend.
The more information we as buyers have the more power we have. THERE IS NO S-CLASS SHORTAGE. Each dealership I spoke to had multiple on the lot ane numerous at VPC or en route. Plently also had 2022's at VPC or being built without a customer's name attached to it.
Upcharge Wall of Shame:
Mercedes Benz of Massapequa
Benzel-Busch Mercedes
Silver Star Mercedes (+$15k lol)
At MSRP:
Mercedes-Benz Manhattan
Rallye Mercedes
White Plains Mercedes
MB Southampton (Purchased here; few grand off)
Please add to this list by copy pasting it and adding your information.

For me, I don't really care if MBUSA does anything to the dealers (which I doubt they will), rather I'd like to have us buyers well informed and steered to the right dealerships. I think this is the best way to reward good faith dealers vs those taking advantage of their customers.
I understand if a dealer marks up a rare vehicle that they only have very few of (G-class or whatever), but the S's are EVERYWHERE. Just do a search on autotrader, cars.com, dealer websites, call around, etc. I am all certain there will be a lot more in the coming weeks as the excitement for the new model tapers down. This is a $120k+ vehicle; these bad faith dealers need to realize that their customers are typically well-informed successful individuals who have some smarts. This isn't a $40k car in high demand.

Fletcher Jones Mercedes in both Newport Beach and Ontario, CA are asking $10k mark up. BUT, of course if you're a repeat customer or really negotiate you can end up at MSRP....
this is the power of the franchised dealer folks. MBUSA is technically a wholly owned distributor for Mercedes-Benz AG. Only way MB USA can legally fully dictate pricing is if they were to go the direct to consumer route, i.e. Tesla. Yes, MB USA can discourage mark-ups but legally cannot enforce anything.

All automobiles are now following the Rolex Watch buying experience. Catalog says $15,000 for a Cosmograph Daytona in Steel - but the store will graciously let it go for double that. (If you're on the waiting list)

Dealerships have a network within themselves that show where you buy cars at. If I bought a car in the city of KNG 2 years ago, then I buy another car or trade a car in the city of RRW, the salesman in KNG immediately sees it. After that, the salesman at KNG probably won't talk to you anymore or certainly won't haggle with you. I found this out at one of my honest dealerships in my state. I won't return to my local MB dealer because of this. It's none of their business where I buy and trade cars.

I bought my S550 from a dealership in another city because they had what I wanted in inventory. The local dealership at that time only stocked lightly equipped models. I didn’t get the best service from the local dealership, however.

yes and there's a $20k add on charge. If he told me that in the beginning I would have walked out.
They should tell u that on the website, what a waste of time.
