2022/23 plug in hybrid
Has anyone heard anything if MB is going to release the plug in version of the new s class? I called a couple of dealers in the area and they had no clue so wondering if any of you have heard anything from your end

Sorry should have clarified- i know mercedes has launched the plug in hybrid. I was more asking if/when that particular model will be available in the US to order

Unlikely that the US will receive the S580e. MB has embraced PHEV's more in Europe where gas prices and regulations have allowed for consumers to buy them in higher numbers, however in the US they've had little success. Its EQ or nothing now.

I see but (just imo) it is such a missed opportunity, Tesla's chargers may start to open to other car manufacturers and Mercedes' good friends from Bavaria has a plug-in-hybrid in this segment (745e) in the USA. Maybe once there are more charging stations, MB may reconsider bringing that model over to North America.

Sadly, this car will probably not be sold in the North American market. I have a 2017 S550e and love it so I asked MBUSA and this was the reply I received:
