Back Pain S580 2022
Can anybody help with this issue. My lower back is screwed up big time. I need 30 mins after getting out the car just to start walking straight up. Ive adjusted the seat many times. Any idea on how to approach setting the seat. At this point I dont drive the car for long distance anymore. Ive spoken to few techs and they are saying customers are complaining about tis issue.

If you don’t find the seats comfortable there is likely little you can do without changing cars.
Do you have multi-contour seats with massage? Or a car with them removed due to the chip shortage? If you have multi-contour’s, there’s a plethora of adjustments in the seat comfort menu.
I personally prefer the 223 seats as they are more soft and suple than the 222’s which were fine but a bit firm for my liking, but everyone’s back will be completely different. Try out the A8, I also found those seats to be very comfy.

I find the seats in my 2022 S500 extremely uncomfortable myself, also in the lower back area. There's something hard at the bottom of the seat back sticking out. Mine are the massage, multi-contour version. A huge disappointment, it's the only car that I ever had in my life, regardless of price point, that I encountered this issue.
I must have spent days going over the myriad of adjustment combinations possible to get to a compromise. What I noticed having a more pronounced difference are the seat back and cushion extension adjustments. A good start is allowing the car to set the initial position based on its visual scan of the driver and making small tweaks from there. Yah, it's embarrassing that this conversation should even occur pertaining to an S class.

I have lower back pain rarely but these seats are fantastic. No lumbar support problems at all. Go to seat comfort options on the MBUX to make fine tuning so that it can help alot. I have made some adjustments at beginning and its been perfect so far. Also you can extend the thigh support to help support the lower back and legs a bit when driving alot. It can cause referred pain to lower back if the thigh extenders are not set properly.

If it makes you feel any better, I too find the seats uncomfortable. I’ve had many S’s, and none have had anything but incredible seats. These are different. The side bolsters protrude too far, and that causes shoulder and neck trouble for me. But, as someone else said on this thread, can’t do a damn thing about it. Gotta take the good with the bad I suppose.

Same here, I'm in my 50's and MB seats are typically hit or miss for me depending on the car (never liked my wife's GLC seats but loved the CLS'), but I think these new S-Class seats are much more comfortable than before.

I am loving the seats in my 22 S580. Most comfortable car Ive ever had. In fact, I actually sit in the seats and turn on the massage when my back is bothering me from being on this earth for so many years. The seats are helping cure what ails me.

W223 Seats are THE best with Exclusive Nappa bar none in the $120K-$190K range. Seats are also nice in the W222 with Exclusive Nappa but not as body "hugging"
You understand that the seats take a while to break in. Like several thousand miles right. How many miles/ Kilometers on your ride?

I can’t stand the seat for one reason only, the bottom seat cushion side bolster (closest to door) is very uncomfortable; feels like something is not aligned properly under the cushion. After a while my thigh hurts.
and also the headrest pillow is kind of soft and its filled with cheap filling- i may get it replaced with some down feathers.

Could this be a 'you' problem versus it being a car problem?
