I believe the ILS+ opens a new option under this menu if Im correct? Hopefully he will let us know for the regular adaptive led lamps if this can be added
iHi
the problem is valid for ANY coding
your only option right now is with mercedes Me
when I will release the option to code I will be able to code everything like other previous models

it's OPEN or CLOSED
coding/option is not a issue

@DoctorDash @crabman just to be clear, do you have the Digital Lights hardware? I’m sure you’re aware it’s not enough just to code the car. Because if you’re in US I don’t think you’re able (yet) to order option 318.

BTW here’s what the menu screen would look like; not mine, I have DL hardware but these two options are hidden. That’s why I’m also interested in the coding.

I do not have the digital lights as we cannot get them on the S580, However once coding is avaialble I will retrofit them. However, I do have the full LED headlamps which have the ILS+ activated many other places and for W222, and seem to do everything the DL can do except projections it appears. So thats what I was trying to ask the Ninja if they could code ILS+ for the non digital light w223 owners. It appears however that w223 uses a new certificate that they'll need to bypass and cannot do so as of yet. We'll have to just be patient and see what time brings i guess

I don't even have the car yet, I have an order on a 23. I'll enable whatever is there.

It’s not just a matter of “enabling.” Does your order on the 23 have the Digital Light option code 318??

Lol, I get that, got it from the start. The order doesn't break out the head-lights in any way. The dealer doesn't know and my query with MBUSA remains unanswered. My expectation is that the car will come without the digital lights and I will only be able to enable the matrix and other functions available with the current standard lighting but that is as of now disabled in the US. If I end up greatly surprised by the inclusion of digital lights I'll enable whatever of that I can enable, if anything.

If they get there, they get there for both. That is what I'm being told by the people who do this work. Should they succeed I'll turn on whatever I can with whatever I have on the car. I'm not making a hardware upgrade to the digital if it comes without; too much for my blood.

They said they were still "working on it" last week. Not sure if they go into the Euro summer vacation thing or not but if so they may already be out for a while. I'm following up from time to time; if anything comes of it I'll post.

It wont work because of the local Transportation And Traffic Authority

I was frustrated paying extra for this option and was reason buying this car because of this technology, sadly its not active and the dealer saying this active based on your location if you travel to other countries it will work where they have no restriction on this feature, i am looking to find away that could give a fake location just to male it active.

Checked from the car with a different language but mine gives three settings under the supporting projections menu, one for spotlight, one for warnings and one for instructions.

EDITED: seems I should change MBUX language to German. As below, the "Alerts" setting was translated to instructions. The English translation seems odd too, what is the difference between warnings and alerts?

Well good news guys, just as benzninja said, it is possible to enable projection functions, regardless of your region settings. I now have projection functions on my China region car, which isn't supposed to have these. The menu looks like this.

I will test out the actual projection functions later, and keep you guys updated.

Hi, was it benzninja that enabled it for you? If not, who and can they do it OTA?
Thanks

Wasn't Benzninja - I live in mainland China, so can't really drop by his place.

It was done by the retrofitting shop, the same one that worked on the rest of my car. I don't know how they were able to accomplish this - it is a trade secret that they aren't eager to part with. But I suspect they might have simply purchased a certificate. They certainly make enough money from all their retrofitting projects to justify such heavy investments.

Do you think they would do over-the-air (OTA) update for us?

Not sure, all I know is they've plugged a lot of cables into my car during the whole process. I'll ask him about it tomorrow, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

And bear in mind I still need to test these features. I can see the menus are there, but that doesn't mean they necessarily work as intended.

Please let us know if they work as intended. More then likely they've purchased the certificate if there doing that many retrofits. Im dying to swap out my lights to the digital ones, once BN tells us he can code them in i'll buy a set for installation and coding

So what does the certificate allow them to do? Surely not activate DL projections in a country that doesn’t allow it, such as in China as per @rw594

From what i understand the certificate allows coding. Considering his car is from Mexico, and parts are from another place I can only assume they've coded it to some random country.

Quite a lot. They also helped me activate 10 degree rear steering on my car, which was originally only 4.5. And that was done without any internet connection, completely offline.

By comparisob, my local dealer told me that the 10 degree could only be activated remotely by MB headquarters, through a subscription with Mercedes Me. They did not have the authority or tools to activate it for me.

So I'm guessing this certificate, if they have indeed purchased one, must give them MB engineer level of access to tweak the system as they see fit.

very interesting, Are the rims 21? I think there are two type of hardware for 10 degree and 4.5 which the last made for 21 rims only.

how this can be activated , also any idea to activate the Energizing Comfort profile,?

I’m no legal expert, but knowing MB and how they are concerned with local rules & regulations (as any large reputable company would be), IMO I don’t think they would issue such a certificate without having to comply with country regulations. In the case of Digital Light, don’t you think the certificate would have a clause to comply with local regulations?
Of course, this is assuming they were actually granted a “certificate” and not just a hack.
