Hi I was wondering if someone could help me. I have the new glc 300 premium x254 here in UK. I have digital light :

30U Projection function via headlamps - lines

42U Projection function via headlamps - symbols

43U Projection function via headlamps - animation

At the moment all I get is the dancing lights when I start the vehicle. I thought the projection symbols on the road when I was driving would also be present but it doesn't seem so and no option in the menu to activate them.

Is it the fact that I do not have code PAX?

What does 42u symbols option even do then?

No opportunity to buy this in the Mercedes me store. I would assume I already have all the equipment so why cant I purchase this as an addon?

The Digital light projection functions are GPS locked to certain locations. Below is a video explaining how they work and show there functionlity

I get that but this feature is allowed in the UK. Just strange I don't see anything in the menu but more so nothing on the Mercedes store for me to purchase.

From what others have posted, there should be a second page inside the digital light menu. There is 3 options I believe and one of them is enable projections. I believe somewhere in this post there is a picture someone posted

So far I think the only people who have actually seen them working and functional are in Germany and maybe the Netherlands. I would probably do the same as you and ring MB and try to get a solid answer. I think your area while approved maybe doesnt have this implemented yet.

What do you mean with "nothing"? You did find the submenus as here:

and activated all but you did not see any functionality at the specific scenarios or you did not find these submenus at all?

If I understand it correctly, the menus are hidden behind a geo-fence in regions where the function(s) isn't/aren't authorized. An owner told me that if I drive across the border into Canada the menu will become available and I can enable Matrix lighting, after I cross back into the US the lighting and menu will be disabled again. This from a man who went on a road trip to Victoria.

This is referring to the multibeams LEDs but I would think the same applies to the digital lights?

The problem is, that the Digital Lights are a mystery, even to the dealerships. Mine has now "retrofitted" (it's just a few codes) PAX, but no extra menues or anything else shows up in my car, and the dealer doesn't know why.

It can't be the geofencing, as I have seen the menu in a C300de here in Denmark, and I have heard from numerous people, that they got at least SOME of the functionality, and one person told me that his is working 100%, with all warnings and animations (don't know if he is "lying", I haven't seen it for my self).

Here in the UK, the ordering only has a few option and everything is bundled into packs. The amg line premium that I have includes digital light. The amg line premium plus has digital light with projection.

I'm just confused at how I have 317/318, 30u, 42u and 43u in my data sheet but not pax when pax is basically all the above. I assume that I may need to activate features by Mercedes me but there is no option to do so.

That's even stranger - PAX is usually "it's own thing", but you are right, PAX contains all of the options that you mention.

Funny thing is, that retrofitting "PAX" to my vehicle, is not actually giving me 42U and 30U - just PAX.

It's really really confusing, and as I said - also confusion to the dealership! They have not been able to give me an answer yet to what is actually activated when you only have 43U, and get PAX retrofitted....
