So I was wondering what happened to all the colour options to the C-Class, it used to have Emerald Green, Lunar Blue and Hyacinth Red. Now there is only the four "grey scale" colours but in different brightness available, oh and one very bright blue. Reading your thread answered my question, looks like all the paint went to the S-Class, not enough paint for the C-Class : )
When one is bored and has some time to kill, playing with the Configurator to see various colour is a good idea.
One tidbit:- for 2023, S500 AMG Line now has 19'' wheel as standard (vs previous years' 20'') but still only 4.5° is available.
The AMG line has always had 19 inch wheels standard
The new colors were announced in the order guide months ago. Nice to finally see them on the website, though the website still lhas many imperfections and inconsistencies vs what's actually available, The order guide and dealer systems are still the real ones to look at.
I would call some of these new colours..."15 minute colours"...they will be fascinating for a short while but after a little while you'll say hmmm...
Choose the colour of a new car impulsively is really rare (but I suppose there are a few such car buyers).
IIRC, 80% of S-Class were painted in black at the factory. So boring! More bright and new colours, at least, may cheer up the factory workers as their working environment is more colourful? :-)

Being in HK, can you tell us if the “China Blue” color is a big deal over there or just a name someone in Stuttgart pulled out of a hat? Just curious.

Cannot speak for the whole country but here locally, I have not seen one (yet...maybe the colour is too new?) and I doubt this will be a big deal at all.
For one, the colour blue in the Chinese culture is not really on top of the 'lucky' colour. In fact, it is related to 'funeral' in some sense.
Another thing is, I think, the 'China' in 'China Blue' does not refer to the country particularly but to the common colour of the Chinese porcelain.
Edit 1: For 2023, this 'China Blue' is not available in China. There is one blue available, which is Nautical Blue (595).
'china blue' was offered in the late 70s and early 80s. as was 'midnight blue,' which was/is non-metallic; i had it on my 140 s420 (with a palomino interiour). now the colours are back - same hues - but with the 'manufaktur' label attached ... and a ~$6,500 price tag. 🙄
