Yup that is my go to option (or lack of option) for me.

8789259[/url]]The W206 C is very W223 S in terms of interior design though, yes there are differences but very similar. The main differences as you already know is the vents and middle part flows down, while the the S' window switches is where it flows down.

The E I personally think the base trim interior without the super screen with the big piece of wood is tasteful.
They integrated the gauge cluster better in the C…

They did I guess they integrated the improvements on the E, from possibly feedback from customers from the S and had a lot of time to perfect it ever since the W223 S first came out and then the W206 C.

2021 AMG E63s Wagon
Off Topic: My next car?

@Wolfman @SW20S Yesterday in ABQ sat in a 2023 Panamera Executive. Was getting my second Service A performed on AMG Wagon next door...had it scheduled for Duluth GA Dealership 20 June but all those Tornados, Hail, and Flooding events between Texas and Georgia made me postpone Trek until later this summer. So just drove 500-miles Roundtrip yesterday in NM.

The Executive model is expansive especially in the rear seat area...my two kids who are 6' and 6'3" would easily fit and have room to spare for their backpacks and MacBooks. The model I sat in was the base 4 Executive with a nice $138K Spec. The Fire Extinguisher beneath the passenger seat caught my eye...at first thought it was a 007 ejection apparatus! Not sure if I would spring for the more expensive 4S Model with the more powerful TTV6 engine but the Executive is now on my radar if I decide to move on from AMG Wagon in 2025. The hatch back and folding rear seats will allow me to transport my Gear across 2 timezones in the future.

Like it better than the M840/M850 4dr Gran Coupe and it might be an alternative to those Youngsters moving on from W222/W223 if Panamera Executive is equipped with the proper Spec. At 63 years old and 250lbs+ ride height not an issue for me but I still ride a Ducati and used to work 14-hour shifts in Permian Basin Oilfields until 59.5.

On way back home got pulled over by NM Trooper. Was doing 110mph in a 75. My Air Force Ball Cap in passenger seat saved me from a hefty ticket. Officer asked what my Air Force Unit was and just let me go with a warning after he checked License, Registration, and proof of Insurance. Glad he was an Air Force Veteran and I purchased that Cap from Monroe last year from his MR Arms general store...lol

The 2.9TT in the S makes a sweet sound at 4500rpm and above. And gets good fuel economy. Used widely in Audi and Porsche models. Seems like a well-sorted engine.

Going from the AMG V8 to the 3.0 or even the 2.9 V6 would be a tough sell for me. I'd only go for a GTS or Turbo, but the Panny's are woefully overpriced. There use to be days you could get them 20+% off sticker and they had leftovers sitting at dealers forever. There's also another refresh coming next year.

Coming from a high torque, high drama AMG to a non Turbo S model feels like somebody turned off the power.

We drove several Panameras which indeed have a long history of deep discounts and low resale values and walked away disappointed.
The Turbo S we drove was great. Power, transmission, suspension and the upgraded interior. No complaints except for a $200k car it neither looked good enough and never felt luxurious.
A great, overpriced and somewhat average looking sports sedan.

The 4 felt completely devoid of power and the 4s although quick didn’t do much better. Again, this is coming from an AMG

Porsche is great for tall people in the back and the BMW Gran Coupe is limited there but a much bigger bang for the buck.

In M8 Comp. trim it will give every Panamera a run for their money, or AMG for that matter. The price and performance is right on that one but the rear headroom less so. Still worth a test drive.

Great story getting out of a ticket

Thanks.

I mentioned in a different thread either I go very fast or very slow. Next new vehicle might be very slow if I still have a License! 10-years ago took the kids to NYC area from Athens GA in my torque limited 2013 Subaru Crosstrek Company Car during Christmas Holidays. Because of winter weather traffic was slow and only one vehicle passed me on the Interstate while I was having a blast manually shifting gears and dodging my peers.

After 2025 will not be many athletic TTV8s left on the Market. Will miss the Brutal Nature of the AMG and breaking the Laws of Physics as I relativistically travel faster than the speed of light after I pass through that Star Gate near Roswell.

Keeping my V8

Regardless about the fate of my AMG Wagon will keep the Chevy SS with LS3 V8 for life. For now engine is pretty much stock. Just modified the suspension with BMR bits. Redline Performance out of Glen Burnie MD is chomping at the bit to make it a 700-HP Behemoth. Chris, an ASE certified GM Mastertech and Holden Superfan, still services Daughter's Buick even though she quit her Maryland DoD gig and now is working across the River in Reston Virginia for Microsoft.

Enjoyed Hendrick Motorsports with their entry of a modified Chevy Camaro ZL-1 Cup Car at the 24-Hours of Le Mans driven by Jenson Button, Jimmy Johnson, and Mike Rockenfeller. It was easily the Best Sounding race car in the field and the French acted like they forgot how American Muscle Sounds. Ford versus Ferrari was a great movie. Hopefully Jenson races for NASCAR soon and brings over Lewis Hamilton from F1 to Hendrick Motorsports? Ferrari beat Toyota at Le Mans after a 50-year drought... Maybe Ferrari can win the Canadian GP at Montreal on Sunday in a few hours and beat Honda?

Not griping here at all. Please understand that. That being said, is there any functional reason that having these large grills play a role in engine performance and engine cooling? Or has that been a non-factor for decades? Just asking. I know that back in the day (1900's to 1940 or so) real radiators were sticking out front for cooling purposes but it seems we have grills now on cars for the last 70 years just as decorative remembrances of an old requirement.

Considering 30% of the energy in gasoline is rejected as heat via the cooling system, air needs to get in there somehow. Call it a grille, duct, vent or opening. Whatever you like.

Air needs to flow so the radiator (an air-to-water heat exchanger) can do its job. Shape of the front end opening is aesthetic. Minimum size is dictated by cooling airflow requirement.
