I wonder how much impact the additional weight really has on the new S-Klasse AMG in particular, since unlike many of the other new 63 E-Performance products, it was already very heavy to begin with. The W221 S 63 I drive is already pretty heavy anyways, I calculated the weight increase from it to be around 20%. Can all the new tech at the very least shave off the increase in terms of driving feel? I know some have described the W223 AMG as “handling like an E-Klasse,” but having driven a W211 E 63 some time ago, I can say it felt considerably lighter and more agile than the slightly newer W221 S 63.

With over 200 posts in this thread, I did not read them all, but wanted to ask you informed folks about the AMG Performance Composite Braking System: Is this the same as the Carbon Ceramic brakes that were optional on the W222 S63 & S65, or are these something different? I see no Carbon Ceramic brake option, so I’m wondering. Thanks.
Long day but we’ve made it home from The Sandy Springs “RBM” Mercedes Dealership. Lots of technology to get used to! My wife loves her new car. 😊 Our salesman (Eric Koenigsberg) was terrific and simply first class.
Haven't used the car for anything but short around town trips and almost entirely battery trips. Ours shows 17 mile range and takes about 3 hours to recharge from 1 mile to 17 miles. I want to try slow charge but can't get the settings out of fast charge using my phone APP. We would also like to purchase a trunk all weather mat but can not find a made to fit one? Has anyone solved this one yet?
Regards,
George

It could not be ordered for 2024 but is added in the Edition 1 model for 2024. It now can be ordered for 2025. I actually pulled the code directly from a stock unit at one of your local dealers Streamliner--Fletcher Jones--Newport Beach.

They are not same as carbon ceramics. These don't have as much braking power as carbon and produce tons of dust. I have these on the G63 and GLS63. The carbons are preferable but in 2024 they were not available on the GLS63 or S63 (except edition 1) due to global supply issues. They are back as an option for 2025 for both S63 and GLS63. It's surprising that on the GLS63 - only front are carbon ceramics and rear are steel painted in gold color.

I have a friend who is thinking about a new S63, so that’s why I’m looking into this. As for “tons of dust,” that was Reason No. 1 that I spent the big bucks to put CCB on my lowly SL450: ZERO brake dust. My wheels and the rest of my white car stay very clean for weeks between washes.
First pic is from a current 24 S63 AMG E Perf at my local dealer. The other two are from take offs from a 24 S63 AMG E Perm being sold on EBay! These look like what you put on your SL?

Here is SPECIFICALLY what is on the 24/25 s63:
Yes, those appear to be the same as mine. I actually believe that the CCB components that fit my SL are exactly the same as for the S63. Thanks!
The cost of aftermarket CCB is ridiculous. I wish it was available on the 24. I have them on my 18 S63. I'm thinking it's worth just swapping 18 S63 CCB onto the 24 S63.

They typically have been the same across the board, apart from brackets, etc. and those cars that have steel rears (some lower priced AMG’s).
The front CCB always had a 231 model number regardless of where they were installed.
This, however, does have a 223 model designation, so they maybe slightly different.
If the price is right on the EBay set, I would consider those…
We actually have one in Canada too! Typically Canada is always delayed behind the US so I was surprised to see it this weekend. Sounded great.
Yup saw one here at MB Markham, should had took pictures but what a spec, next time I see it I will be sure take pictures but I better hurry because there was a sold sign. That said, there should be some more coming in I heard.

It is already delivered
First time hearing MB Markham delivers at such quick pace, it usually takes 5 days for them when I buy cars from them. My friend's vehicle takes 7 even, I had a great relationship with a sales back in MB Markham for a decade but he left now to BMW.
Edit: I remember you or some other forum member shared me a contact so still thank you for that : ) As much as I do appreciate it but I first try to establish a new relationship with another sales in MB Markham since my experience with their service had been positive over the decades. I had two sales, for about two decades (less than two decades), one left 8 years ago this newer one left last year.
Welp, I will keep an eye for another S 63 E Performance and hopefully take pictures next time I see them shame on me for not taking pictures yesterday, it was such a killer spec.
