Software update for the suspension
I just got another software update for the suspension. I didn’t have time to read what it said but I just now installed it. Anyone else get this and actually read it?

Gee, I wonder if they’ll have something similar for the E-ABC system?

The only update I ever got was an update saying it was going to prepare the car for updates. No updates after that. *facepalm*

I'm always a bit curious about what exactly they're tweaking with these updates. Did it improve the handling or maybe it's just some minor adjustments? If anyone took the time to read through the changelog and understands the techy side of things, I'd love to hear more about what we can expect.

Haven’t received that update. A couple weeks ago, i got an update to wireless charging system for iPhone 14 and up. I can’t tell who gets updates or not. I know there was an update to the MBUX system. Believe it was for version 2.4. I never received that one. I stopped wondering…..lol

Don’t like the ride quality
I personally don’t like the updated ride quality. The ride quality before on comfort was nice, soft and supple and now it feels stiffer imo even on comfort. The steering also has changed and doesn’t feel as easy when you move the steering wheel. You also don’t feel as planted when you are making a corner. Before the suspension would keep your body centered and there was a minimal about of lean; now it feels like you’re slightly moving out of your seat. The things that it did fix is when you go over a slight dip or speed bump, the car doesn’t bottom out like before. I’m going to call the dealership and see if they downgrade the software update. This is kind of ridiculous because this car is supposed to be all about comfort. If I wanted a stiffer vehicle, I would have purchased a BMW.

I got this update this morning but it wont load because I've defeated start/stop and that setting must be in the engaged position before the update will commence.

I noticed a difference. The suspension isn’t as floaty in comfort. It controls bounces faster in terms of rebounding, reducing that floaty feeling. I can’t tell if it’s stiffer over imperfections, but that wafting float is greatly reduced.

Do you prefer how it is after or before the update?

I don’t like the change.
I didn’t mind the floatiness. It only happens at moderate to fast speeds over gentle slopes. Even though it really didn’t offer more “insulation,” that small bouncy feeling was like a placebo and gave the illusion of a more comfortable, soft ride. Maybe it can be nauseating to some, and maybe that’s why they changed it, but I slightly preferred the earlier suspension.
It really doesn’t feel more stiffer overall, although it kind of feels that way simply because that placebo wafting float is gone.

Are you going to see if they can change it back?

Interested to see how that works. Being in the market for an S580 it concerns me that new models will have this new suspension tune.

You can have someone install modules over the internet to your car. I had my stop/start disabled and turned on the matrix lighting. Max is the fellow I used, he can enable other features but they weren't of interest to me. You would need to contact him or one of the others doing this work to determine what can be done as of today, the boys are figuring out new stuff all the time. He has a recent thread...

In other news I've figured out how to force it to make the update thanks to a contact at the dealership and it's updating now. By the sounds of it I'm going to like it!
