what's the point of discussing fake image? One I provided is what it's gonna look like.
@Stremliner, those are not Mercedes stars, those are Chineses communist stars, MB following BMW in selling out.

The stars showing in the '26 refresh have been part of the MB logo for more than a century. They're not Chinese stars.

Are they REALLY going to do that to the taillights? I feel that plastering the “star” all over the place is tacky, gauche and decidedly low rent. If they feel that they need this “in your face” crap for China, they could easily give the rest of the world plain taillights.

I’m quoting my own post. I don’t pay much attention to models I have no interest in, so I wasn’t aware that MB had put those ridiculous taillights on the new E Class, but they did. I saw one on the street this morning and I was just flabbergasted! I couldn’t believe it. The new E sedan is so unrefined looking, in my opinion. If they put those same, cheezy taillights on the facelift S Class, it will really bring the looks of the car way, WAY down, in my opinion.
I really hope the facelift W223 headlights aren't as bad as I thought, and apparently the facelift W223 taillights will have the same/similar design as the W214 just based on the camo spy shots hoping there are additional graphics that might make it look better.
When is the reveal anyways?

relax, girls. i mean - honestly - how often do you see the rear tails (or the front headlamps for that matter) when you're driving. me thinks benzo will correct everything(?) with this refresh ... they sort of have to do so, right? i've been pressured (by the more important one to keep happy in my homestead) into ordering a '25 ... but ima gonna delay a year and order a '26 when i can. and enjoy the stuffing outta my '20 560 until then!!

There is a new E Class in my parking garage at work, I like it a lot. The Star tail lights don't really bother me, they blend in fine.

The W214 is definitely the better looking car vs the W213 IMO and the stars don't bother me.
To even discuss those details seems odd, being such a minor detail. To me the W223 is an elegant car and even with a more logos it is a much more refined design overall vs the competition. After all, look at the BMW 7 series who splits the headlights into 2 separate groups (truck/SUV style) and installs them into clunky and inelegant exterior body. The whole car is so much in your face, the discussion of logos wouldn't even come up...

Yeah, I don't understand this rediculous bickering. Is it a downgrade vs the pre facelift? Sure, but to me it's hardly offensive and after seeing the (quite beautiful imo) new E Class, the lights really don't stand aout at all like they do in renderings. Sometimes, it's okay to not feel a need to complain about every little thing.

Honestly, the taillights are the only thing I dislike about the exterior of the W214, otherwise I do agree the side profile is an evolution/improvement to the W213. Me disliking the taillights is after seeing them in person (on the showroom floor, outside the dealership lot and on the road).
I just want to say it is personal preference after all.

The stars are just tacky to me. “Look at me” tacky.
I also agree that they could have been done differently. To me, it’s too blocky and unrefined and not appealing at all like the real Mercedes star. They could at least make the star look more appealing and recognizable.

This is a design trend you will see on more and more cars, I think.
Agree to disagree.

Yes I do like the car a lot and as I previously mentioned it is a good evolution/improvement over the W213 overall. The taillight took a while and still haven't grew on me :/, I wouldn't say it is a deal breaker for me, honestly given how great the overall package the W214 is, maybe just maybe can get a W214 then change the taillights.

For what it is worth, my family member still has their 2019 E 450 coupe and looking to upgrade, I actually recommended the W214 and specifically invited them to check out the tailights in person. However, I think the main deal breaker for her specifically was the fact she is going from coupe to sedan, she liked coupes and the closest option will then have to be the CLE, which to be honest isn't a bad choice but not exactly an E-Class. I also suggested her to look at the new AMG GT.

Like I said, I see a new E Class in my parking garage every day, and the star taillights don’t jump out at me or even catch my attention at all.

As I have mentioned before, I always thought the W223 was a nice looking car. However, due to my 18 month “experience from hell” with mine, I came to loathe the car in every which way possible. Obviously, only time will tell if my switch to the brand from Muenchen will turn out positive or negative, but the looks of the car, at least the way I have ordered it, have really grown on me. And, my car will be a very unusual sight where I live, as the vast majority of new 7’s I see are M-Sport models, so my car will be reasonably contrarian, which is something I like being—if you haven’t noticed. She’s finished and “awaiting carrier assignment,” as of today.

I guess if I never watched the reveal and I didn't clearly go there to look for it, it might blend it and fly under the radar. Say for example if I was just the typical consumer that knows nothing about cars and I never watched reviews and approached the images of the W214. In that case, if my eyes didn't specifically search for those tailights, I might not have noticed it much.
Another thing is we also drove the vehicle to an underground garage to see how it looks at night when the lights are on, the stars really stands out which is the point MB is trying to get across anyways.
I am still considering this car to replace my W205 though as I do overall like it. Then I am also considering the C236 CLE.

I saw this thing in Corona Del Mar the other day. I know it’s a Rolls, but what model?

Well, as they say, that’s what makes the world go ‘round, right? We see things differently.

The i7 is BMW's money-pit, so great deals can be had...
