Can an MB dealer change the 4.5 degree rear steer angle to the 10 degree rear steer angle?

Mbenz "dealer" will never do that, but I saw threads by forum vendor/sponsor @EleBest offering that service at some point.

From what I know and heard, if you have the AMG body styling, you need the 21" wheel size or smaller for this to work (again, verify with others). I don't know if we have anyone in the forum with 22" and AMG styling who tried the 10 degree rear steer angle coding.

I believe this will only work if you place spacers on back wheels with 21" or larger wheels. Max @EleBest can confirm.

I asked mine and they said dealer service departments cannot change that - their diag tools don't have any code from mother MB to do it. So, pay the guy from Singapore a zillion dollars or live with the 4.5. I am living with it...can't justify the $4K+ for that code change for steering...

Not necessary place spacers, we did a few W223 with 21 inch wheel, and proven no issue at all.

I had never experienced 4-wheel steering before—unless you count my 1988 Honda Prelude—getting my 2022 S580 that had the 10 degree option. It was fine, but when MBUSA bought the S580 back from me and I immediately started driving a CPO 2020 S560–which, of course, did not have the feature available—it just wasn’t any sort of a big letdown. I really didn’t notice much of a difference and really didn’t care. I have 4WS in my BMW I7 and again, Ho-Hum, no big deal—I can take it or leave it.

I will take this opportunity to jab at my I7: The bulbous proportions of the car, especially the front end, with the very high hood & fenders, makes maneuvering the car in tighter parking lots a bit of a challenge. I rely much more on the cameras than I ever had to with my S Class sedans. That said, I still absolutely love the I7.

It’s a a good feature in-town, great to have but u can live without it, HOWEVER, where it truly shines and u will miss it once you are used to driving the same car with RWS is on highways. BMW introduced it in the 7-series in 2008, originally to enhance the driving experience, smoothness, and ease on highway curves, lane changes or maneuvers. It’s mind-blowing that it took Mbenz until 2021 to develop the RWS. It’s not a must-have, we know that, but I’d definitely expect it and want it as an option for large luxury sedans and SUVs. This takes me to the question: why has it become a trend for Mbenz in the past 1-1.5 decade to consistently lag behind by 3-8 years on many technologically advanced features, when they were always among the top 2 decades ago? RWS, wireless carplay, gesture control, remote control parking, shareable digital-key, key cars, and phone as a key, auto-doors, hands-free driving, etc.... at least for their top sedan/suv models, they were 3-8 years late on most of these items!

Agree on the RWS, I have driven big cars like this for so long that the legnth of the car really doesn't bother me when maneuvering.
