Will the next S-Class be a 2027 or 2028 MY?

Will the next S-Class be a 2027 or 2028 MY?
How far can they go into 2026 without making an announcement before it becomes too late for a 2027 MY? If it starts stretching into the fall, it’s not worth trying to announce a 2027 if orders and/or production hasn’t even started by then.

This has to be one of the longest stretches for a “refresh.” It’s been so long that it will be disappointing if the only meaningful changes are copying the E Class interior (already a given) and star lights.

Everything we are seeing says 2027 model year should be the refresh. 2027s will hit dealers around September of 2026. Way too early yet to have any release of model guides or anything like that about 2027 models.

It will be new front fascia and lights, new rear lights and perhaps bumper. New dash. I'm hearing a new V8 engine. Its a refresh not an all new generation.

A 2028 model is almost certain. It's too late in 2026 for a 2027 release without an announcement. After such a long wait, just getting E-Class features would be a disappointment.

The 2026 is already out with little changes. If they don’t announce the refresh by next spring, then I think 2028 might be true. We’ll just have to wait and see when they announce. But I agree, there’s not much time left.

Too late in 2026? Its November 2025 lol. 2026 hasn't even started yet. You'll start seeing the car in the Spring of 2026 and it will be out in September 2026 as a 2027 model.

Why would they show and announce the car now 10 months before they would hit dealers? They still want to sell the 2026

Quite frankly the original exterior design was anonymous. The present one is truly hideous. The latest Mercedes exterior design is truly pathetic. IMO the design team must be working for the competition because they seem purposefully gross.

Quite frankly the original exterior design was anonymous. The present one is truly hideous. The latest Mercedes exterior design is truly pathetic. IMO the design team must be working for the competition because they seem purposefully gross.
