W223 S580 intermittent loss of gear indicator + system shutdown / stall
Looking to see if anyone has experienced this on a W223.
Vehicle: W223 S580 LWB 2025
Intermittent issue while driving:
• Engine management light comes on (often first symptom)
• Shortly after, multiple systems cancel (AC stops cooling, driver assist limited)
• Gear indicator disappears completely from the instrument cluster (no P/R/N/D)
• Warnings appear that the vehicle may roll / cannot confirm Park
• In some cases the engine stalls while driving
• Restart may be blocked until Park state is revalidated
• Once gear indication returns, systems recover and the engine light often clears by itself
Key observation: Every event coincides with the cluster losing gear indication. When P/R/N/D returns, the car recovers immediately.
There is also an occasional harsh 2→3 upshift, but this occurs independently and does not reliably precede the failure.
Feels electrical / control related rather than mechanical. Possibly TCU communication, Park plausibility, 12V/48V power, DC-DC converter, or software.
Has anyone seen similar behaviour, or knows of TSBs or software updates that address this on W223 580 L 2025

Dealer leaves are plugged in to their system dealer does all test
dealer does everything you can but can’t replicated it
it continues to happen when I drive it but not all the time but once or twice a week
dealer communicate with the factory always and has always been very supportive best I could hope for

• When it occurs, the car shows 48 V warnings, loses Park indication, and disables cruise control and driver assistance (limp / no-accessory mode).
• The condition is temporary and resettable with a full stop + door open + lock/unlock + restart, after which all systems return.
• Pattern strongly suggests a loose or marginal electrical connection / earth / loom, likely involving the 48 V system, rather than a pure software issue.
