Off topic but I heard MB has introduced a 13 month lease program for current gen S classes for those waiting on the LCI

My dealer had a 13 month lease special when I picked up my car in 2023 - It was actually a decent deal at the time... They wanted $3K down, if I'm remembering correctly, and $1.3K/mo on the Luxury S580.

It appears the refresh of the SUV version of our cars, (the GLS) gets the S Class dash, doors, two-star headlights and three star taillights.

That's not bad. I might consider it if I came across a China Blue.

Has anyone noticed the 'Night' package on the 2027 is not listed as an option on the US ordering guide? The Mercedes Benz website as well as MotorTrend and Road and Track all say Night package is an option.

Thats an example of the night package. I looked at the DOG, its not fully complete yet and individual options are not filled in, my guess is thats where the night package will reside.

I 100% agree that the DOG is not fully complete, and suspect the Night Package will show up in the guide sometime this year. I just hope we can somehow include it before my production date in 8 weeks.
Here is what a Google search produces:

" Based on early 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223 facelift) order guides and information, the Night Package is not omitted (as an option).
  • AMG Line Combination: Preliminary 2027 ordering information indicates that the Night Package is still available as part of the AMG Line, which provides unique front/rear bumpers, side skirts, and blacked-out accents.
Note: Initial ordering guides are often preliminary. The official, final order guide for your specific region may have different packaging, as the 2027 model year features a significant, 50% redesign of components."

If I had to venture a guess, it's because of the crash testing with the new parts. Probably hasn't been done for the USA yet with those parts, and it's too late to do it for the 2027 model year.

But, that's just a guess on my part.

They’re the same parts, just a different color, and they’re just trim. I doubt for instance they need to crash test AMG line and luxury line cars, and a S63 as well as a 580 and a 500

Bummer!. I guess they’re just testing the limits of human adaptation before absolutely nothing can ever “grow on people” anymore.
Isn't the night package just the color of the trim around the car? Or am I missing something? Does it change the geometry of trim? On my GLS, the Night Package would only change the color of chrome around the car.

Its a whole new grill front, so that has to be blacked out. No other Mercedes is similar. Here's the comparison

The announcement specifically states why

"Dark Chrome grill, Dark Chrome accents and Night package.......materials is not available until MY28"

I usually like “night packages,” and have it in my current car, but I actually don’t like the night package on the new S. It’s overly contrasted to me.

I'm surprised so many people prefer the blacked out trims.
I guess I'm old school - I prefer silver trims and silver wheels over 'blacked out' trend the automotive industry is pushing these days.

When I had my Silver S, the chrome looked good. With my Olive, I like the night package.

I think it’s the grille.

wanna blow your mind? Your silver one had the night package too! It was just in earlier years the window surrounds were left chrome even with the night package. You can tell because you don’t have chrome on the lower bumper or the lower door trim and you have the black mirrors.

LOL - Yeah, I see that now. Actually, I like the combination on the Silver one. The chrome surround around the windows looks good while the black on the grill and lower also look good.

I like how on your green one they went to a black chrome trim vs a straight black trim for the other chrome parts too.
