Well that didnt work. I tried it twice. It gets to 86%. Takes a long damn time too. Maybe need to redownload to USB stick. Stick is large enough (64Gb). Still havent gotten the MBux OTA update either.

That just sucks. I was able to do mine. It did take longer than normal to download. Stayed in the 70 or so % for a while but it finished with no problems…..
would be nice if they would update over the air like its supposed to…..

I see from your screenshot that you were attempting to update several regions at once. I've found in the past if I try to upload too many regions or the whole map to MBUX it'll fail. Also, I've found if I interrupt the process by getting in and out of the car several times during the process, it'll fail. This is because when you're out of the car, the upload stops until you start the car again.
Also, you might pick just one region and try to see if it uploads successfully, then do the other regions.

Ok so you just stack the regions one at a time. I thought that might overwrite previous. Also, you sit in car with it running the whole time. I ll try that.

If I'm uploading one region - Georgia and the Southeast for example, it'll take about 30 minutes for the upload to complete in the car. I don't sit in the car, although I did do that when I first started doing these manually. Now if I'm planning a drive that'll take an hour so, then I'll kick it off when I get in the car and monitor it while it installs. If you need to jump out of the car once or twice, to pump gas for example, that won't kill the upload; it's when you start/stop multiple times during the install that I've seen it fail.
As for the overwrite - it won't. When you insert the thumb drive into the USB slot, the car recognizes that you want to install an update and off it goes. If I remember correctly, the Mercedes installer on your PC wipes your thumb drive each time, so it'll have the fresh files for the next region. Then rinse and repeat these steps in the car until you have all the regions updated.

I have to go to Alabama tomorrow, so i will try with 2 regions.
Nice - that two-hour drive will be plenty of time for the upload to finish. You can use navigation during the trip and upload - just remember that you'll be prompted to restart navigation when the upload is finished - go ahead and acknowledge and navigation will restart. It takes about a minute, then navigation will resume where it left off. Just don't do this if you're in unfamiliar surroundings and are reliant on navigation at that moment in time.
It was empty prior to adding maps. After attempting install and going to rewrite I notice the dash cam folder in there. This time I formatted ex-fat, first time was NTFS.. don't know if that makes a difference. The download manager accepted it.
Did the Map update with 3 regions (got greedy). It took an hour and 25 minutes and accepted. Prior problem may have been because i was leaving the car i guess.
