FS: 2002 Mercedes S55 AMG

I need to let my 2002 S55 AMG go and thought I'd see if anyone would be interested here. I have pics and complete description on my website..
http://jhunix.hcf.jhu.edu/~daw/AMG.html

The car is in MINT condition with 52500 miles on it. It's a Brilliant Silver with Charcoal interior. Comes with just about EVERYTHING except Distronic!! I'm asking $65k obo. I'm located in Baltimore, MD 21236

Please e-mail me if you're interested or have other questions.

Thanks!
Dave

No longer car shopping...
Hmmm, interesting that my post got edited. Did I offend a mod? I see no PM's in regards to this so I assume not. To the point then. Isn't $65K a little much when others (some with significantly fewer miles) are available in the low $50's?

PS - To be even more direct... Why are all those pics taken on a Benz dealer lot? Are you a dealer?

I am not a dealer.. those pics are the ones I had when I bought it from the dealer in Texas. I can take some more for you in front of my house if you'd like. Also, I've decided to come down on the price some to $60k....

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks
Dave

"Also, I've decided to come down on the price some to $60k...."
ITs been discussed Sclasses have dropped considerably. An 06 S500 which looks better and has 0 miles is only 86k at the dealer. Get ready to take one up the U know where or just drive it until the wheels fall off. Thats the price of Driving a vehicle worth over 50k, they drop much faster and harder.

02 S55 with 65k is worth around
09/27/05 FAAO Regular $53,800 18,839 Above BLACK 8G A Yes
09/22/05 ATLANTA Lease $43,250 54,162 Avg BRI SIL 8G A Yes
09/22/05 CINCINNA Lease $42,500 55,574 Below SILVER 8G A Yes

I believe your numbers above are from Dealer's auction... so it's not a fair comparison as not eveyone has access to it. My guess about the price for OP would be around $5K-$10K on the top of the numbers above, which means high 40's to low 50's. Consult KBB and don't be self denial .

After looking at the pictures I don't believe that it is a true S55 AMG. -my 2 cents.

Why? Nothing out of ordinary....

Found one in eBay.... similar mileage... just like my guess.... high 40's.

I've lowered my price on this S55 AMG again to $57,500 or best offer!

Please e-mail me if you're interested or have other questions.

Thanks again!
Dave

Here's the VIN WDBNG73J72A278744

I think only one person questioned the authenticity. I think the majority of us on here believe your's is the 55 you state. The only problem I see is the price. Even at $57K your higher than the market. I wish you luck getting your number but with so many other similar cars available from other sellers in the high 40's/low 50's, your just going to have a hard time finding a buyer willing to spend $5-&K more than they have to for this car. Good luck though.

your car is over priced too!

NA S55's are not hot cars. Most people will find the extra 10k and get a 2003 with 500 hp instead of getting a modesly fast 2001-2002 car. Off the line many cars are faster than an NA S55 including a 7g E500 etc.

I see the car here selling in the low 50's.

and?

Options = lost cash for the first buyer lol.

on the used market options make u want the car more not want to pay more lol.

in the end condition is the leading factor for a used car. id have to drive the car to see how it feels. My S55 was an amazing car but then again it had an entire new front suspension via warranty. Not sure why i sold it... oh ya 500 hp

Well the key is... I also said "Or Best Offer" So if anyone is interested in this car, I'm sure we can work something out! With the many options this car has and it's condition.. the buyer will be glad he looked into this. I agree, condition is everything. I'd put this up to anything out there condition wise. It's that good! The pics do not do this car justice.

So.. if anyone's seriously interested.. let's talk!

never knew he drove it!!! LOL

did it say amg on the back? not sure why he took the amg off but left the S55. Its an all or nothing sort of thing!

I bet my S55 was in better shape than the one being sold here! But im more than a bit crazy with keeping cars clean. Not JW crazy but still crazy. Options? I learned my lesson with options on 2000 S500. 13k in options was crazy so i calmed down on the S55... kind of...

Then came the E55 and well those darn options got the best of me again. But that car did not come with anything standard. You cant drive a E55 without xenons. That illegal i think.
