Question Question on S65 options

New member here with a question about options on a 2006 S65. Looking to lease/buy one of these, but having trouble getting a list of standard/optional equipment. Does anyone know whether this model is/can be equipped with:

Active curve illumination headlamps (like in the E55)?
Drive-dynamic front seats (like in the E55)?

Thanks in advance.

something fast
Go to Mbusa.com and they will have a list of the standard options. I am certain it has drive dynamic seats, but not so sure regarding the active curve illumination. I know of some dealers that are trying to get rid of some S65's and they have really attractive pricing. Check your pm.

I was quoted 16,000 off of MSRP today by a local dealer for a Pewter/Charcoal S65 with Keyless Go, Parktronic, Sirius and a dealer installed hands-free communication w/voice control (not a factory option, but they said they could install it). That's below invoice AFAIK. Does that seem like a reasonable price, or should I hold out for even better?

I would think that it'd be smart to wait if you don't need a new car right now. Just look at the values of the CL65... They're dipping into the 120/130s with just a couple 1000 miles. With the arrival of the new S class being so close these dealers are going to be ready and willing to make some spectacular deals.

I would hold out as well if you don't need the car right away. As soon as the new S600 is out my guess is they will fall another 10 to 15%.

Do we know when the new S class is to arrive? Also, will the new S class be introduced with the higher HP engines right away, or will they come later? I'm all for saving a few bucks, but waiting is tough!

The new S550 is said to be here in late Q1 early Q2. The AMG version typically follows 6 months later.....

Has anyone else hear anything?

Speaking of options......has anyone else noticed that many of these cars have deleted the standard option "Parktronic"?
Why would this be almost a normal practice? I don't think that you even get any money off for doing this. The only thing that I can figure is that......maybe they didn't have the parts needed for the option so, the manufacturer stepped in with an "over ride"!
Any ideas on this?

I don't think it is standard

It is not standard on the SL65 and I don't believe that it is standard on any 65's. Some people really hate the holes in the bumpers, like me!

I've had a heck of a time trying to find out what is and isn't standard on the S65, and what the options are. Apparently, Keyless Go was standard for a time, and an option at other times. Some of the S65s have a Keyless Go "delete" reference and a credit for the price of it.

What I have been told is that the only options on the S65 are:

Parktronic
Distronic
Tire Pressure Monitors
Keyless Go

Everything else is standard

I have read somewhere that the "keyless go" and the parktronic" features are standard after the production date of 03/05. So, if you purchase one of the earlier models......you would have had to order them as options.
By the way, I am looking at the "NetStar" sheet for the car that I am purchasing. It clearly states as STANDARD equipment:

#889 keyless go
#881 electric trunk closer
#297 rear-side window blinds
#475 tire pressure monitoring system
#223 electronic rear seatback

Just to name a few. Also......it clearly states: #262 delete partronic. Weird but, I didn't order it this way, someone else did! This has absolutely every option including Designo Graphite but........"delete parktronic"!

**So......in conclusion and after my extensive research, the OPTIONS on the S65 are as follows:

Designo package
Sirius satelite radio
Phone system w/ VCS
Distronic
Active ventilated rear seats
4 Place seating package

Hope I've cleared a few things up with this post. If I could figure out how to scan and post this "NetStar" sheet.......I could have saved a lot of typing!...lol.
Now, back to my original question......anyone know why someone would delete the STANDARD "parktronic" feature?

I have a call with the dealer this morning, we'll see how it goes. If we can agree on a price, then next step is the trade-in (Cadillac CTS-V--so I'm expecting to get slammed).

One way to avoid issues with depreciation once the new S hits the street -- lease for 24 months You can always buy it when the lease expires if you want, but if the depreciation has been worse than the 38% they calculate... you can just walk away.

Yep, a 24 month lease is my plan. My dealer is still trying to screw me with my trade-in. 28 grand for a 2004 Caddy CTS-V? Ouch
