That's a HUGE trade up... What I don't understand is why not wait for the new body style in 2006? Your car is going to look severely dated in 8 months.

Don't get me wrong, still a beautiful car, but not quite as impressive looking. A little too curvy for me. Very Mayback-esque. I like the straight lines of the 06 more. Also, the AMG version of the restyled S class won't be around for a while, and I only have a 27 month lease, so if I want to upgrade at the end of the lease, the timing should be good.
thanks

Just got home from delivery. Between the paperwork, getting the phone activated (V710), getting some instruction from the salesman, etc..., I was there for over 3 hours!! Sad to leave my CTS-V behind. I'll post some initial impressions later tonight.

Here are some first impressions. I've only driven the car about 60 miles so far, but here goes...
COMFORT-- This car is so much more comfortable than my CTS-V. Much smoother ride, and a lot less cabin noise. Seats are very soft, and not too bolstered for my tastes. Not a cramped feeling at all (surprising since I'm a big (heavy) guy). Tried the dynamic mode, coulnd't really feel anything, but absolutely love the pulse mode. Still trying to find a perfect seat position, which may take a while becuase there are like a gazillion combinations. Arm rest is perfectly positioned for relaxing the right arm while driving. Have to get used to not shifting, which is a little strange. If I have to shift, I'll drive my Viper.
POWER -- Hard to tell at this point, since I'm trying to break it in properly per the owners manual. I'm in "C" mode, and keeping the RPMs and speed variable. Still feels fast, just based on the amount of throttle I'm giving it, but nowhere near the sensation of speed/acceleration that I felt in my CTS-V or my Viper. Probably faster than both, but in a more civilized way.
RIDE -- A noticeable change from the Cadillac, much smoother and absorbs bumps better. A little steering wheel shimmy at certain speeds, but may have been due to tire pressure being WAY off. Feels like a bigger car than the Caddy, a little less composed on the corners, but haven't really tested it too much b/c of break in.
Things I love--the power folding mirrors are too cool. The trunk opener/closer. The pulse seats. The new car smell. The color (Flint Grey -- not too exciting on a cloudy day, but beautiful and very metallic in the sunlight). The wheels.
Things that I don't necessarily love -- navigation seemed a little better in the Cadillac. Already a little stone chip on the drivers side rear door (ugh). Dealer tells me I can't play DVDs even while in park?
Overall--I'm loving this car.

Posting is fairly easy. Just click on the button "Manage Attachments" and browse to them. The only limiting factor is file size, so you might have to re-size them.

I'll get some pics up shortly. I was a little hesitant about the color (Flint Grey) at first, because it is a little dull with overcast skies/rain. But it really perks up in the sunlight. Very metallic.
