Smile First pics of my S55

Hope you like the pics! It was a nice day in Florida.
I traded my 03' CL500 for it. Although similar looking inside, the cars have such a different personality. The CL had a very intimate interior which was cozy but not very convienent if you have more than 1 passenger. The S55 feels alot bigger overall (although they both take up the same amount of room in the garage), and just has that amazing power.
The CL (sport package) seemed to beg for exit ramps, whereas the S55 seems to beg for stoplights.
One issue....I bought the S55 used and it has water spots on the sunroof and front/rear window. I can't get them off...tried goo-gone, bug+tar remover, clay, polishing compound, wax, glass cleaner, etc....Any ideas??!

ouch, just use clay and a light polish. Use plenty of lube for the clay. Then after get some ColorX and just apply it with a cotton terry cloth. Should remove the spots. If you want to use something which will get the job done quicker, use ScratchX. Oh the polishes are by Meguiars

Thanks...I'll try the ScratchX. I did try the clay from Mother's and no matter what I did the spots were still there. Not as bad as they were at first, but they are very stubborn! The clay worked great on the paint though.

Are you using a hand towel? If you are, you might like to buy a Porter Cable random orbital buffer and a polishing pad (these have a small amout of cutting power that will take off water spots). Check out this website, it's the best i've found for detailing stuff and i know a thing or two about bringing back a used car to good condition. My CLK was terrible when i got it.

Check out autoglym's glass polishing kit. It has a polishing compound and hard disks that you attach onto the buffer. It will almost certainly take them off if used correctly.

Nice looking S55...my next upgrade, hopefully. One minor query...

... (although they both take up the same amount of room in the garage)....

I am also contemplating a CL because I have such a short garage. These cars can't be the same length, can they?

Well,
I have a small one-car garage and the S55 and CL seemed to fit about the same to be honest. The CL is a much larger car than it looks. Not sure on the exact lengths, but I would say they are within inches.

King--

Thanks. I ordered the glass polish. Looks like a good detailing website!

They are hard water spots, I assume? If so, vinegar works well to dissolve them.

Beautiful car and I would suggest calling Zaino for the water spot problem.

use 0000 steel wool on the windows ,it is very fine and won't scratch the glass but will remove the waterspots most of the time.
