V12s
S600: 5,513 cc; 510 hp @ 5,000 rpm; 612 ft-lb @ 1,800-3,500 rpm
S65: 5,980 cc; 612 hp @ 4,800 rpm; 738 ft-lb @ 2,000-4,000 rpm
It's just tuning, including the extra ccs. Same base engine; both are twin-turbo.

What's interesting is that a RennTech ECU upgrade enables the 5.5 Litre TT to slightly exceed the 65's power levels. Less costly soultion to having a car of roughly equal power. Then again, RennTech also tunes the 65's.

Even if they were to charge you more money for the extra horses, they would! Their not going to leave 50-75 hp on the table......so to speak!
It's really just semantics. Call it the same engine family or different states of tune of the same engine. Unlike the new "63" engine that AMG developed from scratch, the 65 AMG engines are modifications of the base 275.x Mercedes 12.
