Well fellow members, we finally delivered our '05 CL65 to a lucky MBWorld'er & he will let you know who he is on his own time, I'm sure!!! The next "steal" at the House is our last 2006 S65 AMG!! Flint Grey/Black with Parktronic as the only extra option. The original MRSP is $173,475 & we are letting it go for $129,999 plus all applicable fees!!!!! I have attached some pics for those who are interested.
This car is brand new & never been titled with full factory warranty....here are a few more pics!! If anyone is interested, please feel free to contact me at 714.562.1179 or marcus_benz@hotmail.com
I just worked up a 27mo/12k miles lease on this car @ the $129,999 selling price! The payments, with drives only came out to $2240 plus sales tax & this is based on Approved Credit with MB Financial.

for an 06 model with new 07 body style already out...price should be closer to 110-120k
Valid point, but used cars with 2.5k to 8k miles are going thru high-line auctions for between $107k to $115k. I think the price is fair for a brand new car, but it is all in the eye of the beholder.
MBWorld Fanatic!
Well the price isnt unreasonable...i just dont really see it as a "steal"...any how, whoever gets this is going to be one lucky guy

It's been so long that I've forgotten... what other options were available on the '06 S65?

I think Keyless Go, Distronic, phone, rear seat package (4-place with heated/ventilated), Sirius and the two Designo packages are all options.Originally Posted by sithlordabe

Yeah let me run right out and spend 129k on a car that will loose 20k in value inside of 7 minutes of ownership, but hey, go get that new baby! What a steal.
I dont know why people would ever buy a new Mb, I love the cars just not the mega depreciation. Might as well play the penny stocks!

People that can truly afford it don't worry about the few bucks they lose...
I agree that a car is not something to plan your retirement on, but it is all relative. People that can afford the car, already have their portfolios pretty well stocked with things that will take care of them in the later years. Also, that is the biggest reason that we lease so many new cars these days. I believe that the general public has realized that this is the only way to not lose their shirt in depreciation!!

Or to get into a car they can’t afford to buy. It's amazing how many expensive ($75K+) luxury cars are out on the road these days, leasing has opened a door to customers that previously weren't able to afford a particular car. As for those that do buy the car, they do care about the value, yes there are the exceptions, as with the customers that can swipe a check for any car they want without blinking, but the majority of people buying the Biturbo V12 AMGs have taken a hit that I'm sure they regret. Just because a car is near $200K when new, doesn't mean that the customers won't care about depreciation because they have the ability to buy a car of such caliber, a hit like these cars have taken is a HUGE factor in the sales records, no one can deny that fact. I can afford to buy a brand new SL65 with a check, but I guess I'm the only one that cares about loosing $50K on a Mercedes in a year's time. These cars were sales flops without a doubt, for the factory, I'm sure not, but for the US dealers, you're kidding if you say otherwise. Just because someone has the means to buy a car this price, doesn't mean they don't care about the insane value drop because it's just chump change to them, sales figures prove it. You wouldn't be selling a brand new one a year late and $45K back of MSRP if people who bought them didn't care about the depreciation. These cars are becoming a pretty decent value, but these cars will continue to drop more than the average luxury car, good luck with the sale.Originally Posted by MarcusBenz

I notice there's one on Autotrader for $87,800. 24k miles, but still -- ouch.

I totally agree with your view on this & don't take what I said the wrong way. I think anyone making a purchase of this caliber cares about value & depreciation, but at the end of the day choose to buy/lease the car anyways. When this S65 came out, everyone was aware of the new body around the corner & had to have known in the back of their mind that this car would drastically drop in value (as with the majority of V12 Benz's). Also, the factory was well aware of this due to the very limited number of cars that were produced. In the end, we buy what we want & can afford. Also, some people have to be the first on the block with the newest toy, no matter what the cost and some of us patiently wait to take advantage of a better situation.Originally Posted by LawrenceAW

Beautiful car, when i was in the market for a s55, i was debating between that flint and the black. Good luck with the sale. When i was running my parents restaurant in La Palma, i'd always run into techs from MB House of Imports eating lunch. BTW, is the 2006 blk cls55 still for sale? Got any pics of that marcus?

This V12 screams, is well tested and provides F1 speed and the comfort of a S class. The new body style is not worth 60k prenium IMO..This is a good deal for someone looking at new fully loaded 550's...pay maybe 5k more and get a V12, with over 700lbs per foot of torque

Dealer here (Naperville IL) still has 2 W220 S65's left, one Black and the other the same Grey as the one in this thread. They've been sitting for months now while the W221s come and go.

Indeed. I, for one, love the fact that Marcus actually takes the time to discuss things with us and not just spam us with a listing of his entire inventory, then bail on us.Originally Posted by BenzoBoi
