2020 GTR Roadster, 2020 GT63S
S63 Now Available for Order?
According to my dealer, the S63 is now "in the system" and available for order. I have been checking almost daily, waiting very impatiently. I'm told mine has been entered into the system and ordered. No production date yet, or prices were given to me. I should have that information shortly.
There are not too many available options:
P3 Night Vision and Rear View Monitor (ordered)
8-way adjustable rear seats (not ordered)
030 AMG Performance Package (Oh yeah! ordered
)
iPod integration kit (not ordered)
Panorama Roof (not ordered - I have it in my E55, and I don't see the need)
Distronic Plus (ordered)
They tell me everything else is standard
I am going with Pewter, and the Gray/Dark Gray Premium Leather.
God, I hope it's true, and not some hype.

Wasn't aware that the 030 package was available for the S63 as it is not offered on the S65.

I've got an 07 S65 and I have some of the options you don't have ordered...
I would order the 8 way power seats and the pano roof. You are purchasing a car that eveyone can ride in very comfortably with lots of room. People love the fact that they can adjust there seat in the back. They also love the fact that when they open the pano roof at night, they can see out. It gives the car a VERY nice feel with the pano roof. I would also order the ipod integration kit as well. I'm not an MP3 fan only because I don't use them much. I ordered the kit and bought an ipod and it is fantastic. To be honest with you, after putting the ipod in my car, I have never used the CD player once. It's very very easy and user friendly to browse through play lists and songs on your steering wheel...
IMO, you're going to probably spend around 120K (no idea on price) on the vehicle. What is another 3 or 4 thousand bucks to make the car much much more enjoyable?

because AMG is still too cushy for some... but the majority of people like it still to be cushy and have some sportyness. The performance pkg is for the people that want the extra goodies that most people wouldnt care about (further upgraded brakes, limited slip diff, CF trim, etc).

I was under the impression that 65 AMGs inherently had the 030 Package, such as is the case of the SL.
Either way, I do not think you are going to slide without paying at least 130K on your ride, regardless of the options you chose to forego.
Pewter color? To each his own, I personally do not like color, somehow it neutralizes the car to me.

The SL55 030 pkg does have the LSD as well as the stiffer suspension and upgraded brakes. LSD is standard on the SL65.
