s 600 vs s63 vs s 65

I want to buy S class. But i dont know which one to buy.
Price doesnt matter for me.
question:
Is s600 is more softer than S amg. Because my dealer said that S63 or S65 its like a sport car and suspension also is sport and its not really good car for long distance driving...And s600 is very soft and comfortable car...

is it true?

The AMG suspension is very comfortable for long drives. Low profile tires are always stiffer and noisier, but it's far from a "sports car" ride. The ABC suspension settings in the S65 are only slightly stiffer than those in the S600. I regularly drive the 400 miles from northern to southern California with just a stop for coffee and gas and get there feeling refreshed. Your dealer is full of it.

The S65's suspension can be adjusted for any occasion. It is without a doubt the ulitmate sports sedan on the market today.

Sounds like question is which is a more comfortable/safer high-speed limo....

Agree ride comfort of each S-Class is excellent
Would suspect brakes/handling of S63/65 are notably better for any high-speed emergency maneuvers....

Real deal-breaker may be relative traction in wet/snow/uneven pavement, even in mid-range speeds/moder accel.....here, S65 may disappoint....

Had an '07 SL65 which IMO had unacceptably poor traction in wet/uneven, dry pavement (599 has excellent trac in similar conds)....

Have '07 CL600 now which has excellent traction in similar conds....in fact, 600's superior traction gives me confidence to prob drive faster in most conds than I would in SL65....

I find it interesting that a month ago you said you were getting an ML63, and that you'd rather buy a US model than a EU model to save money, but now all of a sudden you're going to buy a car almost twice as expensive without blinking. Something is rotten in denmark.

It's the chassis, not the extra torque. I haven't gone ***** out in snow, but the S65 (W220, at least) has much better traction than the SL65. In the dry it's actually hard to get tire spin as long as you don't go out of your way and brake-torque launch or something.

If price is not a factor, then I think you'd have a hard time making a case for the S550, the S63, or the S600. If we were all in a position where the extra $70-80k were meaningless, we'd all be driving S65s.

If price doesn't matter than the S65 should be your choice hand downs. Why even seek advice if you can afford the best.
I'm sure it will complement the ML63 that you apparently have also ordered.

How much long distance has this dealer actually driven in an AMG car? I bet the answer is zero. Mine is great no matter what the distance is, and it is just an E class.

G5 for long distance, maybe a Lear for short trips (SF to LA) and have a Maybach to pick you up at each airport .. I mean if we're saying price doesn't matter!

S65's have variable suspension settings, softer or harder as you like .. what dealer told you and S65 isn't good for long distance driving? Name that dealer!!!

It is softer, you will feel even more difference on bad roads. Besides, loud exhaust while is cool to have, may be annoying on long distance driving.

The S65 exhaust is very quiet. It's too quiet for many enthusiasts who wish it sounded like a Ferrari V12. The turbos make very effective mufflers.

The S65 may be the best looking car EVER..WOOOOOOOOOOSH, fast comfy and fast and comfy. funny, you could eat a vette for breakfast lunch and dinner and still have room for 4 passengers. My gosh this is the car to have if money matters not. I will get one after I am done cruising the CLS. Course put the TT in the CLS and that will be well my next car. CLS body is truly a gift. S65 combo is difficult to match at any level.

honestly, S-65 is really rare, especially coming from the UAE... i haven't seen one till now...theres always one problem with Mercedes which i never liked, the fact is that, every S class is the same either from the logo's and exhausts from the back...why cant they like change the shape or something, i mean there is a hugeeeee money difference involved, a bit of recognition is deserved for a S350 and a S65 AMG, i mean any1 can pop the logos and exhausts. just my 2 cents

They did , it is called the SLR...The way I tell is I get on the *** end of the car and swoop around, if the driver stays on me and pulls it is a real 65 if not..LOL simply a fakker, the quad exhaust and AMG tips plus side skirts why mimic? It costs plenty to turn a 550 into a 65 why waste the cash? I know from a distance hard to tell a 550 from a 65 but that is part of the stealthy mercedes flavor, it is a warning to not jump in the water ubtil you are sure what you are swimming with. The 65 is serious on every level, I personally just stay away from all 65's, the s 63 will be in trouble :-D

Nice post

65s are plain nasty and have an unsociable amount of power.

New shape or old?
I ask because prices for the old shape are getting amazingly attractive and it is the ultimate Q-car.
