Passed on the S63....
But my father bought it instead. Great car, but just too "mature" for me. I do agree that the door panels need some leather like the 600, but its an awesome machine.
Does it come with bluetooth already? I can see my iPhone on it but it won't activate. Also, what's up with the rear window controls? Unless its messed up on our S63, the rear windows are operated by the passenger door and the side shades are operated by the driver side door? What's up with that?
BTW, the iPod adapter works with the iPhone, but unfortunately, it'll be stuck in the glove box.

The window controls seem to be messed up, mine are fine. There's lots on the forum about the iphone - seems to work _ I don't have one but rather have connected both a Razr and a Blackberry 8800.
Have you pushed it and compared it to your E ? I think you'll be surprised, I know I was as were many others.

correct on the side shades, controlled by driver with the first/additional presses of the up/down window controls
The rear shade doesnt have a dedicated button but can be controlled either through the menu (vehicle settings) and many cars (including mine) come with that programmed as the optional button

Thanks all, will order the bluetooth adapter.
Now the next question is, do the icons on the light switch light up at night? And why doesn't our S63 have the headlight washer button on ours? Is that an option?
I actually got to drive it today, followed my dad from the dealer at delivery, so didn't drive it then. Its an amazing car. Didn't really push it but will say that its not lacking in torque compared to the E55. One thing that will impress is the ABC. Totally flat cornering. Its cool that the display shows what gear you're in. And I love that speedo. They should just go ahead and make the entire cockpit "glass". Wish I ordered the 030, just for the wheels, but even with stock wheels, its a sweet ride. I semi-regret not going through with the purchase, hmm, might have to re-order for myself.
Here are the specs: Iridium/Charcoal/Burl, P3 (even though I didn't order it), rear seat package, pano, ipod.

Not quite sure about the light switch - need to check. There is a headlight washer button. I have the night vision and that is to the left of the light switch and the washer to the right.

Headlight washer switch
For S63's, and presumably all S-Class cars, produced after June 1st, the headlight washer switch is gone! Instead they have a counter that starts counting every time you wash your windshield with the headlights on. Once that hits 15 times, the headlight washers automatically spray the lights.
It is one of the absolutely silliest changes that Merceces has ever made! Consider that each time you turn the engine off, the counter resets. How often do many of us drive and use the windshield washers 15 times? Now I wouldn't care if they added the automatic, counting mode to the switch but removing the switch could not have saved more then $10-$20 a car, at most!
Someone said that if you repeatidly, and rapidly, use the windshield washer that the headlight washing might kick in early in 4 to 5 washes. I haven't tried it, partly because eliminating the switch was so ridiculous!!
Something else I haven't tested and cannot confirm... Do the brake lights light when Distronic Plus applies some level of braking? With up to 40% utilization possible, I am wondering if the guy behind is alerted? Conversely, I would not want to appear like a driving idiot with the lights blinking on and off every time that Distronic applied very modest braking.

That is stupid to get rid of the button. It makes it look complete with the button there. Now it looks suspiciously blank. Since we have the button for night vision on the other side.
And I hate the automatic headlight washers. I have them on my Range Rover Sport, that activates every 4 washes and it totally messes up the car. I just want to clean my windshield without the car spraying and making a mess of itself. Hate this after I just wash my RRS. Sometimes I don't know what these automakers are thinking.

Headlight Washers
Eddie:
Take a look at the production date on your car. I bet it is before 6/07. If so, it is an early production car and DOES have the switch. Later ones do not (at least not the ones I have seen).

Let me know if anyone answered the question on Brake Lights and Distronic.. I have assumed that they work when distronic is braking... but don't know for sure
