SL65, E55T, Pending S65
First of all, chill out. You are completely missing the point.
Whether or not a car has an AMG badge on it doesnt bother me. AMG has its hand in styling of the sport package cars, so fine, if they want to use the AMG badge, it doesnt matter. But I hate posers because a poser doesnt just put an AMG badge on his car, he rebadges the entire thing to be something that it isnt. Who cares whether or not it says AMG when a e320 is driving around badged E55. THAT is what pisses us off.

The only cars that should have an AMG badge are the cars that roll out of the factory with it.
Every time a dealer slaps an AMG badge on a S550 it cheapens the brand. AMG's are something special, the badge should be a representation of that.
The badge represents a total package of components not just the styling of the car.
I say grab your heat gun and fishing line and help them out next time you see one of these posers.

I didn't know dealers were allowed to put 4.8 badges on X5s that had an I6 under the hood. Would've thought it was in some way against the law.
On another note, saw a mint gray E63 wagon that wasstock save for the fact it was totally debadged. Now that's class/wicked sense of humor.

saw a totally and i mean totally modded out s550 at a Dallas c.club sunday,it was completely debadged, my buddy asked me what type of car it was, he thought it was a S65, I mean it really looked nice, I however knew that it was just a s550, with all the goodie's added on that had been debadged, nice and clean looking from the rear.My question, isn't this guy a poser in reverse...??...he would almost have to be.!!...instead of adding badges to make his car look like something it is not, he simply took off all badging and added other features to make it look like a car that he clearly wishes it to be..... YOUR THOUGHTS.

Dealers...badging
Here in saudi arabia... ive seen the amg logo on many S-Classes especially the W221 ones. All these cars are titled S350 AMG...or S550 AMG... but.... they have the AMG body kit from the dealer... I feel that as long as they keep the proper numbers pertaining to their engine on the back... that keeps them from being posers.... though theres an E240 here thats badged up as an E55 with the exhaust..kit...rimms...even the amg brakes... but the engines a 240...now thats being a poser...

I've got an SL500 Sport with the AMG-designed SL1 package and wouldn't dream of badging AMG on the right rear. However, I have seen later SL500's (the last being a 2002 Silver Arrow edition) that had the badging. Factory? I don't know...?
On the other hand, what I love about the AMG cars is the "sleeper" status. You have to know what you're looking at to know what you're looking at, if you catch my drift...And while the S55/65 cars are outta my league, I did drive a C32 over the weekend...Yowsa. I can't imagine what you S65 guys must feel like when you hammer the throttle....

There is posing and then being cute.
A couple weeks ago over at Ruess Radio they had a SL
It had quad exhaust and a brake kit. I saw it drive by my office.
But the sound was wrong. It was not a 65 or a 55. To my trained ear
it was a 500. I had not seen the badge when it drove past but expected the worst. I walk up to this SL and this guy has just left the badge SL
nothing else. He has a nice exhaust kit and a brake kit. But other than that
is a SL500. At least he had the class to keep the AMG badge off.
Its like the crappy S55 I saw the other night. I left a napkin on his window.
FAKER and AMG Poser. Not even the body kit. Just the badges.
Its that brick red color. At Houstons in Irvine. Very weak.
We need to get some offical cards printed that we can leave on Posers
cars when we encounter them. To let them know if they dont already
that they have been ripped off.
