Not sure what you're saying not to believe? Auction prices will be lower than public sale prices, maybe some wiggle room but it doesn't sound like the dealer is trying to rape you or lying or anything .. unless I'm missing something

On Ebay the dealer says that they car sold for $152,000 but the auction sale says $136,000. Take a look at the ebay link.

use ebay much?

the initial bid and buy it now prices were set by the seller; any bidders would have to bid at least the initial bid price.

note there are 0 bidders on that auction, which appears to have expired/run out of time. there is no indication that anyone is claiming the car sold. in fact, when you run "completed items" for auctions for the same car, that particular auction shows no sale, i.e. the price appears in red.

i have no idea what you fellas are getting your panties all bunched up about. this dealer doesn't appear to have done anything untoward here.

The dealer ended the listing early and in the auction title it says "FL. S65 AMG // RARE--VEHICLE IS SOLD!! FOR $152K !!!!" Somehow theboogers found out it really sold for $136,000...???

This is interesting because I was browsing S-Class auctions and I came across this one. I thought the pictures were nice, but didn't read into the auction. I don't think I'd be dealing with this guy anyway after reading the descriptions, etc.:

AND "NO" I WILL NOT TAKE SOME LITTLE KIDS E55 AMG IN ON TRADE THAT IS ONLY WORTH $30K...GO BUY A HONDA LITTLE BOY, AND STOP PLAYING WITH YOUR DADDY'S MONEY =) .................................................. .................................................. .................. WHAT CAN I REALLY SAY ABOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL MERCEDES BENZ S65 AMG THAT THE PICTURES HAVE NOT ALREADY SAID. DEAR PEOPLE, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THAT VEHICLE THAT IS TOP STATUS, WELL THEN HERE IT IS. EVERYTHING IS IN PERFECT MECHANICAL CONDITION AND COSMETICALLY SOUND. The original owner, after a long hard decision has decided to sell this great vehicle. The mileage on this vehicle is accurately represented. A non-smoker owned vehicle. This vehicle looks like it has nevr left its' garage. This vehicle's transmission shifts like it just left the factory. This vehicle engine runs very, very smooth. The exterior shines like it just came off the showroom floor. The interior of this vehicle is in absolutely mint condition and still has the new vehicle smell. If you have any questions about this or any of my other auctions please feel free to contact me via e-mail by clicking here or you can call me at (727) 409-6547. Thank you for your interest and I look forward to hearing from you.

...

dealers are trying to make as much as possible there's nothing wrong with that, the average consumer doesn't have access to manheim market reports.
