Kleemann S55 AMG
Rolled an IS-F in the S55 tonight...

I got the chance to run a new IS-F tonight that had a reputation around town of being a bit of a mischief; claiming he'd beaten everything in town already and was looking for a worthy opponent. As luck would have it, I ran up on him on my way home and had several runs with him.

Three of the runs were from a dead stop, and every time the S55 trounced him off the line and into the triple digits before he looked as though he was getting some legs under him. The others were from a roll and there was nothing in it ... the two of us were neck and neck, but again, I got the sense that if we kept going, he would have started pulling.

I really found this odd ... does anyone know approximately what 1/4 mile time I could expect from my car? It is an '01 S55 with the Kleemann blower and Kleemann headers on ... it used to have a Kleemann ECU until MB flashed over it, argh ... I'm sending it back off to Kleemann this coming week, so hopefully I'll have some power back. At any rate, it was nice sending a brand new IS-F home with its tail between its legs in the old luxury barge.

Run him again after you get your ECU flashed by Kleemann. The stock setting does not know what's going on under the bonnet and its true power is locked up. IS-F's are fast but not that fast, you should be able to put a few more car lengths when yours is running properly.

Here are stock S55 from Dragtimes http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php...arch+DragTimes

Here are stock IS-F from Dragtimes http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php...=10&carmake=27

So its a drivers race but the S55 should have an advantage from a dead start due to monster torque. But from a roll it can be challenging. I presume the IS-F is lighter so on a roll factors might shift the balance over to the IS-F.

I figured it would be down on power fairly significantly not having the Kleemann ECU and being N/A from the factory ... it acts confused sometimes ... no real way to explain it, you can just tell that without the Kleemann flash, something is just off a bit. I would definitely love to run him again after the flash. Once everything is put back right, I would expect a 12.6 to 12.7 1/4 mile out of it, given that it's more powerful than stock (supposedly) with the Kleemann, plus has the headers as well, but of course bench racing and track racing are two different things.

+1Million!!

Can't believe you still have the stock program back on the car and ran it hard like that!!!???

Lucky you didn't end up doing any damage. (running lean etc)

Get that reflashed ASAP and run him again. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
