2009 S63 Hits The Dyno
Anyone who needs dyno , I had my CLS dynoed here.. The guys are GREAT!!
Lyle Larson a seasoned drag racer is a hoot to talk with, the shop is amazing!
Did you guys get your new dyno ? I think I pulled a 440 on the same dyno the S63 did 414 my baseline was 408 slightly lower than the 412.
You plan on Modding?
WELCOME!

Thank you for the kind words!

That's not what I've seen so far out of the Es/CLSs Vadim.
Take a look at the majority of the DynoJet graphs (also note how off some DynoDynamics #s are lol):

I agree that other models can make that much power (410-420rw stock).

Are you testing in 4th or 5th gear? If it's 4th it would explain some of the difference.
Regardless it's the difference in gains we look at anyway so no biggie.

You also have to take into account that most shops dyno in the wrong gear. 5th gear in a 7A is 1 to 1 not 4th, 4th reads 6-8rwhp higher than 5th gear, same car same dyno. Sometimes it's due to the cars having a factory speed limiter (5th pushes my C63 past 180mph) but post tune there's no excuse for using the wrong gear.

1. You can not do 5th gear on stock cars. You will hit 155 mph speed limiter.
2. Most dynoes do not have fans big enough to keep car from detonating on 91 CA gas at 140 MPH.
3. If one does do the runs that high, now there is another 5-10 minutes wait to get the car to cool down. Thus severly limiting available time to tune.
4. Very few people drive at over 140 mph, so gains/numbers at that speed are not important to them.
5. Although S/CL63s are rated at 518, they also have more drivetrain loss, so typically they are at mid to low 420s vs. mid to low 410s for E/CLSs. Cs are limited by throttle to 50% opening, thus making around 370-380 at the wheels.

I can control TB opening and I can see it on the scanner. The values do not always correspond to exactly what they open, but they are very close.
I will post some data graphs in C63 post later.
