I know this is an MB fourm, but was wondering if anyone has a Flying Spur in their stable that they could comment on vs. the S65.
Thanks.

I never thought that would be a disadvantage. Isn't it just priceless? The frozen, shocked, painful and horrified face-impression of all the sport-car "snobs" in their tin-cans who were just smoked by a living-room on wheels? Yes, so far, I can only imagine how good it feels. But that will change some day - when I get my own 65!

Right now, the price-difference between a 2006 and 2007 is at about $50k ($50K compared to $100K). I bet it will be MUCH less a year from now. In addition, the 06 will likely be out of warranty and technically, the 07 has much more to offer. So let's see what is going to happen - maybe the 07 will be in the 60s a year from now. I mean, who knows?

Id approximate these cars to be going for around $98-$105K at auction -- And they are very hard to find as I remember I saw some auction data that showed 5 sold in 3 months (S65)

Yesterday I bid for a 08 S65 on ebay. Sold for 73K with 70K miles on it with all the options (a lot of miles I know, but some say the V12 will never break).
However, there is a BiN on eBay for a Silver/Blk S65 w/26K miles for $96K, which seems fair, but I know these cars were going for $92K at auction with 12k miles, which makes me think that the car market has at least stabilized. Where are you seeing other prices? I know it was damn hard to find one of those cars coming up at auction, or in fact to find one of those cars anywhere at a reasonable price.

I have a constant eye on autotrader and cars.com and the cars listed there have been offered for months now AND have been reduced several times.
It's true that the pre-owned market is hot right now - but I'm not sure that applies to cars selling (or not selling) around $100K.
