'11 S63 Question

I just made a deal this weekend on a Black/Black S63. Supposed to pick the car up on Monday. I have tried to do as much research as possible on this car since it has the new engine but have not had much luck. I would say I am pretty new to the sight but I have been a member for a bit just not that active. In searching the boards I have not seen that many of them delivered as of yet but I was wondering if anyone had any pros/cons regarding the car. The car will mainly be used as a daily driver as well as entertaining clients from point A to B. I just have some concerns I have heard from a few regarding the transmission, noise of the motor etc. I still think this is the right car to buy but maybe I am having second thoughts. Any help anyone might have regarding the new or older S63's would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Noise is pretty muted inside, more aggressive outside.
As long as you keep it in "C" mode the transmission will be smooth and shifts will not bother any of your passengers, almost like S550(negligible difference).
You will have the Stop/Start though, again, very inobtrusive and should not bother you,it just feels freaky at the beginning when the engine "dies" on every stop.
You'll get used to it and you won't even pay attention to it later on.
When you drive by yourself, put it in "S" or "M" and have incredibly quick shifts, while the car turns into a real rocket.
Don't have second thoughts,it is the best packge from S Class at the moment, IMO.

Absent, how does the physical acceleration feel in the S63? Before it was fast, but not too dramatic and the weight kind of held it off - but now with more power, is there more push? What can you compare it to that you've driven?

By the seat of the pants it feels like S65,similar deep torque at low rpms and seemingly never ending surge of acceleration.
Feels easier and dramatically more effortless to drive aggresively when compared to previous S63.
In "S" and "M" mode the transmission is more abrupt (even a bit jerky) next to 6.2 S63 or S65.
To carry passengers you basically have to stay in Comfort mode which is tuned for smooth shifting very similar to torque converter equipped cars.
Btw,I don't see any mileage improvement so far, still can make only about 200 miles on a full tank....

everything Absent says abotu the car is exactly right, could not have described it any better. except i dont notice much of the "jerk" but then again i went from an LS460 to this and hated that transmission and drove my gt-r on off days and that thing is just a whole other story.

You said that the engine dies at every stop. What happens if you stop for a few seconds, trying to make a left turn and there is on coming traffic, will it start up and accelerate fast enough? Also is that a feature that can be turned off.

Na, it doesn't do that, its like it knows when to come on... Plus you can ride in S mode which doesn't allow it or ride in C mode which defaults eco on, but u can disable it and still ride in C mode by disabling via the vehicle function tab.
