This is one amazing machine. After being on the SL55 list for 18 months I grabbed this when it was offered. The SL55 is nice but for me this turned out to be the better choice. I can't keep the smile off my face when I drive this thing.

Thanks... I drove the E55 which is a rocket but, for me, the S55 was smoother, and just more what I wanted. It was the best combination between a hotrod and a luxury car that I could find. I was surprised at how well it rode considering the low profile tires and stiffer suspension versus the normal S500 which I just sold.

Beautiful car, love that color combination, I have one just like it on the way! It should be arriving in Calif. tomorrow, and should be here in Hawaii in about 2 weeks. Looking at your pics is really building my anticipation for it, can't wait! Almost bought a white one that someone dropped out on, but I like Brillant Silver better, easier to take care of.
What options did you get? I got mine with keyless go, parktronic, ventilated and heated rear seats, reclining rear seats, power trunk, I think that was it.
I also had the first E55 here in Hawaii but decided not to get it after driving the white S55, far more spacious and luxurious in the S55. The E55 also had a problem with the dash lights, it's at the dealer awaiting a new instrument cluster. Bummer!
Anyone looking for an S55? My dealer has a few coming in, one is a cancellation, an another is a bonus that MB gave them, Plus I think the White one is still available.

2005 SL55
I got my S55 about two weeks ago, Brilliant silver, charcoal, keyless and electric trunk. This car is all that I could expect and more. My '03 SL500 is collecting dust in the garage, what more can I say?

I didn't get the rear seat options. I got the parktronic and distronic systems although I wasn't too sure about it at first. After using them both I have grown to find them very convenient. Because of the low profile tires I also included the pressure monitoring system which I liked on my Corvette. The V60 phone was also an option I took. All in all no complaints with the car yet, but then it has only been 4 weeks

I just ordered an Olympus C 4000 digital camera from the internet and when it arrives I will learn how to post some pictures on the board. Meanwhile the S55 went to the shop yesterday because the rear ceiling light on the drivers side was full of water ?????? Has anyone had this problem? Mabye a plugged drain from the sunroof? The SL had a complete brake failure at 260 miles that took 6 weeks to repair. Are these cars getting too complicated to be reliable? Oh, and the handling... defies the laws of physics. A 90 degree turn at 40 mph on a residential street is a real kick and try a panic stop sometime if you want to feel some technology in action, it's almost scary.jeff

ja1031 i have that problem with my C230 there's water inside it. so they have to open up. Now it's fixed. I don't think that's a major problem. Post your car's pic when it's done.
