I think this is going to be my last post on the issue otherwise its not going to stop, posers will remain posers, at the end of the day they are still fakes. All I care about is the real AMG which I will be owning very soon.

Eh? I was involved all the way in the car he purchased, we looked for cars together and he wouldn't have bought it without my approval. Maybe you should find out a bit before you go jumping around like a loony. I did not however, claim I bought the car, I thought I made that clear in the photos post

Tommy Boy,

I'm jealous, you must be selling ice cubes in hell to be making so many pounds at 18!
You sure, you're not like Gurdas, and talking about what you would do if you had your dad's car(s)?
Gurdas, don't pose about your dads' car anymore; Ricker55 punkd you, junior!

Thanks, I appreciate your comments. I can assure you those are not my Dad's cars, he's got a Porsche 996 GT2 and Ferrari 360 Spider, among a few others.

As for how I can afford my cars, I play quite a large part in the running of the family businesses.

You hold your dad's hand when you went for a test drive, or were you in a booster seat in back?

Booster seat or not, I don't need a badge to compensate for inadequacy in regions of the nether.

The fact is I didn't say it was mine but I stand by all my previous comments Who owns the car wasn't really relevent but if you want to nit pick on that because thats your only comeback then fair enough

Oh yeah and the Brits can comment on liberating Europe in WWII, because they were allies of the US.

hey now, let's stick to the debadge/poser debate now shall we... injecting some nostalgic nationalistic sentiment when we all drive GERMAN cars seems like something of a moot point to me, imho.

I don't really care whether or not someone wants to put an AMG badge on their car. I know, as a MB enthusiast, if the car is the real deal or not, I don't need to see the badges. "So, the S320 CDI doesn't have an 8-pot brake system in the front and 4-pots out back, aw shucks, I would never have known if not for the S55 AMG V8 Kopressor badges all over the car!"

What's more interesting to note is how the "real" AMG owners get so bent out of shape over these "non-AMG poser mobiles." Is it because they thought that by buying an AMG it would put them in some sort of exclusive club and that non-AMG poser mobiles dilute the appeal to the casual observer? I know that's a pretty cynical rant, my apologies...

SportlichE430: Judging by your posts I bet you would not deny the statement that all post-integration AMG offerings are "poser mobiles" compared to the Hammer, 300CE 6.0 wide, W126 6.0 wide, et al.

Yes, on all counts Jon (schwarzwagen)!

The HAMMER is the pinnacle of AMG, what follows must approximate putting ice cubes in cabernet.

Saw the same car today. I just looked at the driver and laughed while pointing at the V8 Kompressor emblems.

awiner...

Have you been seeing this badged up car in Westlake? This is a small town, I would like to laugh at him as well! I think I've seen you a couple times, but that was before the HREs... If you see a w126 with mud flaps, that's me.

What was his reaction?

There's a fake E55 that I see every now and then on my way to work. It's a pretty bad fake. It's either an E500 or E320 and it has an E55 badge, and AMG badge and even has the V8 KOMPRESSOR badge. However, it doesn't have the quad exhaust and the V8 KOMPRESSOR badge is not even on straight! HAHA

No, I see it on Topanga Cyn Blvd in the Woodland Hills area.

I do however drive through Westlake Village daily.

Oh, it's from the valley, that explains everything. There are a lot of cars like that roaming around down there. Last time I was in the valley I saw a 2000 E320 factory sport package with an AMG badge and 16x8 15-hole alloys from the 90-92 R129 SL.

E32 AMGs are a popular model as well. As are C32 AMGs with no body kit and 16" wheels.

YUP

I used to get all worked up when I saw stuff like that, but now I guess I'm starting to realize that it isn't my car and as much as I can disagree with what the person has done to it, I still don't think I have any right to call them a poser....Badging it AMG (A tuning entity) is one thing but badging the actual make of the car something it is not is just deserving to get called out.
