Shifting

I'm almost exclusively in M mode, so I've never experienced what you're describing, other than the basic computer mandated torque backoff between shifts. I think it's this factory safety that most TCU tunes mess with, resulting in so many failed transmissions in tuned cars.

What I don't like about M mode is that it will hold 4th too long when I feel it should already be in OD, but I guess that's what the paddle nubs are for.

The trans is a slug though.. it reminds me of trying to race with a manual trans but shifting casually.. so rpm is roaring then sluggish shift... the sluggish shift feels just like the issue I'm having down low too.. I'm thinking I really should look into a tcu tune.. but then I'm wondering if I should go somewhere who is best and does both ecu and tcu.. who is the best for the s55?.. Thanks!!

Thanks for the info, but it's not a clunk.. It feels like the car is shifting when it shouldn't, or the converter is locking.. I'd bet money it's the converter locking but I don't know.. I can check the center bearing but I don't think it would only do it at that one time after low gear.. It only happens when you first give it gas down low..
