S63 amg engine squeaky noise 2008

My 2008 s63 been in the shop for 2 month now. It started making noise only when it's fully warmed. The noise goes away when you step on the gas. So far I changed Idler pulley three of them belt tensioner belt. Harmonic balancer. Water pump and Alternator and it's still making the noise. Anyone have the same problem? https://youtu.be/623dOJwp3Lo

Speculations..... The A/C compressor bearing might be going out.

I only say this because I went through it on my 01.

Any luck with a successful diagnostic? My 2009 S63 just started making the EXACT same noise. I used a stethoscope and it seems either the water pump bearing or the water pump pulley bearing is chattering (or both, but unlikely.)

my serpantine belt needs to be changed so I think I'll remove this and piole around a little more while it's off to see it I can't dial in on the exact issue.

Thanks

SB

so I ran my car without the serpentine belt and it was making the same noise. There is a seal in back of the Harmonic balancer that we changed and that took care of the problem. My noise was coming from the crankshaft pulley. Does your car make that noise on start up?

My car does it when it starts from cold. Then it stops, only when to restart when the engine gets up to temperature. Would you happen to have the part number for the seal that you changed? Was it a difficult repair? Any guidance or lessons learned would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Exclamation Problem Resolved - Update 11/2/2017

I resolved this issue of my front-of-engine squeak. From my earlier posts (late Sept. 2017) I was pretty sure the culprit was the harmonic dampener and was (pursuant to Sfcprez415's diagnostic work and experience) prepared and preparing to remove the serpentine belt to replace the harmonic dampener seal - the serpentine belt snapped while cruising down the highway doing about 70mph.

The event. While driving I felt a very (make that VERY) slight shudder which was quickly followed-up with an onscreen notice to check ABC system, then to check the power steering fluid level, and then to check the engine coolant temperature. As I immediately began to pull towards the hard shoulder the steering tightened up and I coasted to a stop and shut-off the motor. First comment - when the power steering assistance is lost on these cars the steering is practically impossible to turn (while moving) - and when parked, just forget about it. Upon closer inspection I could see that my belt had snapped/been shredded, coolant was running everywhere, and I was gonna need a tow truck.

The next day I removed the radiator and fan housing, flushed the coolant system, cleaned out all the belt remnants, and took stock of just what had happened. Turns out that the bearing on the upper left idler pulley on the water pump (the grooved one) had collapsed, causing the pulley to lock tight, stripping the belt and shearing-off the plastic pulley cup. Also, upon inspection I noticed the upper right idler pulley on the water pump (smooth one) was in bad shape - it was not spinning freely and had a metallic whirring sound when it would spin. Fortunately I had a belt in hand already as I'd been planning to replace the existing one, so all I needed was 6L of coolant and two new pulleys. I called the local (Houston) stealership and they wanted $85/pulley. Refusing to pay these prices I ended-up buying OE units online for $21/pulley plus $11 on 2 day shipping. As for the coolant, it turns out that when the belt snapped it also took out the plastic fitting that connects the return hose from the expansion bottle to the thermostat housing - as in, it sheared it completely off. A new thermo housing is ~$190 but since the unit itself looked fine I decided to repair it as opposed to replacing it. I drilled-out and tapped the aluminum housing and installed a 3/8 hose barb that screwed straight into the housing itself and reconnected the hose with the existing pipe clamp.

After installing the new belt (really easy with the radiator and fan removed) I filled up the coolant, ran the system, bled-out the air and listened for the same squeaking sound. Not a peep - it now sounds perfect. What I think was happening was the bearing that failed was putting a lot of strain on the crankshaft/harmonic dampener and this is what was causing the squeaking. The car runs better than before so to anyone who is exhibiting any symptoms that you think might be related to the harmonic dampener I would highly recommend removing the belt and checking-out all the pulleys before dropping the $500 on a replacement dampener plus the cost to rent/buy the specialized tool to remove it. I'm $100 into this repair (for two pulleys, new serp. belt, a brass fitting ($3 from Home Depot) and 2 gallons of Zerex G-05 50/50 mix coolant).
