Given the fact that our cars have basically no market (potential buyers are well aware of the contents of this forum), as well as the fact that my car is mechanically well, I decided to do a full maintenance job, update its interior looks and functionality, via new upholstery and a modern android radio. In order to do this, I searched for inspiration in newer models and found the new S560 with the look I wanted, as per below photo:
I just finished the job and I am very happy with the results; having said this, It is not a look for everyone, and is a long way off from the silver car/black interior that most cars wear these days. Without further ado, here it is, all sorted out and ready for another 150K miles!
Well, I live in Colombia, so it is difficult to get MB-approved works here; nevertheless, I went to a shop I had used before, called Panther Design. They restored a heavily damaged blue interior for my 1973 BMW 520 and did a hell of a job, so I was confident.
All I in all, I think they did a fantastic job with the S55, with great attention to detail and the end result shows that.
Car looks very nice! Lots of attention to detail. If the car is solid and in great condition you mine as well do something to spice it up and modernize it. I like the command system as well.
Thanks, all! I enjoy it so much more after freshening it up... it almost feels like a new car. I have to say the Android head unit has also made a ton of difference, as the old radio wasn't working well.
