Anyone else do this?

The heat capacity of the coolant, the oil, and the metals inside far exceeds what that fan can do blowing down on the top of the motor like that. I would wager a significant fraction of an hour's wages (
) that if you were to to place a thermometer by the car, and time its rise and descent after the car arrives, there would be no appreciable difference in the temperature depending on whether the car is fanned or not.I know you're talking about excessive heat in the garage, not excessive heat in the car, like hot-soak, but the best thing for the car is to never park it and shut it off immediately after hard running. If the car has been run hard, like some aggressive full-throttle light-to-light runs, a view times through your favorite twisties, or just donuts in the grocery store parking lot, the best thing for the car is a normal, sedate drive home. Circulates the coolant, brings the temperatures and pressures back to normal, and nothing wrong with parking and shutting down after that. Just don't park it before it has time to recover from high-performance running.
I guess for me I thought I was helping it cool down better because it has some airflow with the fans while parked. I do realize there isn't a need to do this but I still find myself doing it.

Unheated garage in New England.
I let 2 cars idle out in the driveway in the wintertime to warm them up before pulling them into the garage to work on them. Their engines heat up the garage enough to keep it from being bitter cold.
